Internet Marketing, Getting Started and Beyond
Writen by John LukeMany people today are trying to make a quick and easy dollar by doing as little work as possible. I have to admit that I am one of these people, for I would rather do as little work as possible to make as much money as I can. In this I have looked through many things to try and make money, I don' even want to list the numerous things.
Through searching the internet, I have found that a lot of things were lacking on the internet, I have myself built and developed several web pages that have made tons of money, and have put me in the earners bracket that I want to be in. It wasn't easy by any means, but if you put your mind to it, you can achieve a lot.
This is a brief guide to start from nothing and work your way to thousands of dollars.
Starting Out
When you first get started the first thing you need to do is to find something that is going to drive visitors to your website.
First of all ask yourself a few questions:
Would I visit this site?
Would I return to this site?
Would I use this site often?
What is this site providing to me?
How is this site making money and will people help the cause?
Would new people to the site come?
Would people tell there friends about this site?
Would people make this site a "favourite"?
Is this site a copy of something that is already done many times over?
After asking all these questions, you can get a better understanding of how a website will preform. Then once you get the general layout of the site then you can begin designing the website.
Most people tend to use Dreamweaver to design a website, but there are several other programs that can be used. The program generally guides you through all the steps to setup the website, and everything you need to get going.
If you have questions there is plenty of help to get you through everything. Just google search it and you are sure to find what you are looking for.
Once your site is complete, which could take several days to complete, then you are ready to find a host and post the site on the internet.
Finding a host is relatively easy, and it is very easy to get everything setup for your website.
Then once your site is online ad everything is ready to go, then we get to the hard part.
Marketing your Website
There are tons of ways that you can market a website, and it is difficult to list them all, but I am just going to focus on the programs that will be most effective to bring you high traffic at a low cost.
This is exactly what you should be looking for.
Should I submit my pages to search engines?
NO! do not submit any pages to search engines for the following reasons:
A) search engine traffic is few and far between, and the odds that you will get a good rank are low. You will be way way back in the results anyway, so now point spending time with search engines.
B) Your pages will be indexed by search engines anyway within a week or so.
What to do?
This is a list of several of the more profitable ways to generate traffic:
If you have some spar cash buying links is an excellent source of traffic.
The best way to buy links is through any of the several thousand sites that are selling links, you could even possibly buy links from major advertising sites as Yahoo and Google, but I find that these methods are very costly with low results. I have several better ways that can give you more traffic.
Forget CPC, better is permanent links, or semi-permanent links.
What are these types of Links?
These type of links will hold your page for many months generating traffic over the long term instead of short term results.
Why are these better than short term CPC links?
These are much better because they are usually much cheaper, plus you benefit from the increase of traffic over the years.
Break down:
I am curently offering on one of my sites the following:
You can purchase a 10 year text link, valued at $5000 for 10 years. The cost per day is $1.37.
The Link is very exclusive since there are only 20 links available for purchase.
Let's say you purchased one link and the site starts with 100 uniques, and 400 pageviews of your websie per day.
The website increases it's traffic roughly 100%/month decreasing by 5%/month(this is just a guesstimate from the websites I have had in the past)
So you would receive results similar to this (with a 1% click rate, very low):
Month 1 /6000uniques/ 24,000 pageviews / 240 Clicks / Cost Per Click $0.125
Month 2 /12000uniques/ 48,000 pageviews / 480 Clicks / Cost per Click $0.0675
Year 1 /50000uniques/ 200,000 pageviews / 2000 clicks / Cost per Click $0.015
As you can see the cost drops substantially, and continues to drop.
This also helps to increase your page rank as the main site that is linking to you increases in page rank. It is a great strategy to get your page started and to maintain great click ads over the years.
We currently have these available at Adbrite
And, expect to see more ads as we continue to grow we will add more and more of these types of opportunities.
The other more cost effective ways of promotion include:
Posting links to your website on open forums
Exchanging Links with other websites
Promoting your site via mass email.
These and many things will be looked at through future arcticles.
