Start Your Own Online Business For Free

Start Your Own Online Business For Free

Writen by Lori Nedd

You may have seen those ads that make all kinds of promises and free offers and give you the sweetest rags to riches stories, but once you finish reading the hype, your own dreams are crushed when you reach the bottom and find that "bottom line price" of only $39.99...$49.99 and even $99.99! (often times more than that!)

When does it all end? It doesn't... as long as there are desperate people like me and you who are looking for something to change thier lives in the shortest time possible, we find ourselves falling for the hype of viral marketing, info marketing, pop ups, pop unders and so on.

Well let me tell you a little secret... ready?

The same information that they are trying to sell you they found themselves for free. They just knew the right questions to ask and the right places to ask them from. They probably even found out how to market and package the info that they are selling to you for free.

So with that known, I decided to start my own website dedicated to finding out all I could on my own about what I wanted to do, which was start my own internet retailing business. I started on my quest when I realized that there were tons of companies that were trying to sell me products to sell. There were membership fees, service fees, minimum order amounts, etc.. Well, I got fed up and decided not to take the sucker route. I found out that if you wanted something then all you had to do was ask for it, all they could say was yes or no, with no loss to you.

Well, upon my search I managed to wrangle up lists of companies that wouldnt charge me a dime to sell thier products on my site or at the auction, all I owed them was the wholesale price of the item and shipping and handling which the customer pays (yes this is a form of dropshipping) But I have been side tracked in my quest, as I have created this website dedicated to helping others as well as myself as I learn the in's and out of the internet as a business.

In my research, Ive found that much of the info that I was suckered into buying several times over on my own just by asking questions at the companies search engines. That's all, it was easy as that, just asking a question. Of course you will have to get an eye for what is a scam and what is legitimate. The point is, you shouldnt have to pay for something that is free. These people are making money off of...guess what?...your laziness.

So get off your tush and get to those search engine and try rephrasing your questions, you might be surprised at what you find.

The development of the internet has led to millions of people deciding to set up their own online business. Many people simply believe all they have to do is think of a good business idea, purchase a domain name, get a website developed/hosted then simply register it with search engines and hey presto!, the customers will flood in. The truth however is a much different story. When things do not go as planned many website owners simply give up within the first 2 years.

My advice to anyone who is contemplating starting an online venture in the future is start now. So what do I mean by this?

• Have a brain storming session, try to think about your business idea, try to be original but not too whacky.

• Purchase your domain name as early as possible, search engines dislike new names.

• Learn about the art of SEO a great source of information is www.highrankings.com by doing this you will be able to distinguish good business services from terrible ones, i.e link building services.

• Start saving, each start up will need funds when starting out a rough ball park figure would be in the region of ฃ5000.

• Look closely at what your competitors are doing; check who their sites are linked to.

• Visit business and web design forums, try and source out a good reliable web designer.

• Find a good web hosting company that provide a reliable service at a reasonable price.

• Think about a logo, prices vary from ฃ10 - ฃ500, check out a designer by the name of Eagle at www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk

• Your business will need relevant Terms and Conditions and probably a Privacy Policy, forums are a great source for advice. My advice is to get a legal specialist to draft your T & C's.

• All good websites need unique content added regularly, try to work out how you will get around this, generally it is done by incorporating a blog or article section to your site.

• Find links that provide you with free directory listings and search engine links.

• Decide how your marketing budget will be spent, generally people list with Yahoo and MSN and Business.com this can cost in the region of ฃ500 alone.

As you can see there is plenty you can be getting on with before you even get started, do not make the same mistakes as most people, which is to rush in because it seemed like a good idea at the time. By being prepared and having a good work ethic your business should have a better than average chance of being successful

Starting Your Reseller Rights Business Part 2

Starting Your Reseller Rights Business Part 2

Writen by Edmund Loh

(Continued from Starting Your Reseller Rights Business Part 1)

In this series, I am going to assume that you have already picked a high-quality product with resell rights that you can customize for back-end profits. This simply means purchasing the product yourself first. You will then work your business plan to cover your initial investment and later profit from it.

Setting Up Your Business

========================

The moment you get your hands on the product, what do you do? Read it! Use it!

Remember I said that they are called products and not parcels? Sure, you do, if you have been reading my series up until now.

If you have not done this just yet, get yourself a website and make it your channel to your sales letter. After you are done with that, you need to set up your sales letter and auto responder. Do not forget to set up your credit card payment processor or merchant account.

Here are some good ones:

[1] http://www.2checkout.com

[2] http://www.paypal.com

[3] http://www.stormpay.com

[4] http://www.clickbank.com

Since most of this article is about starting your resell rights business, I would not cover web hosting, auto responder and credit card processor in detail here. For more information, seek other relevant articles by other established Internet Entrepreneurs in http://ezinearticles.com (look under Internet-and-Businesses Online directory).

Since most of the job of selling the e-book and convincing your prospects is going to be done by your sales letter, you play your role very similar to a referrer or affiliate. Using ingenious concepts, you refer targeted prospects to your sales letter and if it is a good sales letter, it can produce a conversion rate of 2 to 4%.

Marketing Your Product

====================

With all the technical issues taken care of, your web site up and your product available for sale, you will need to promote your web site together with the product you are selling.

Here are some effective ways you can practice for good results in your sales and back-end profits:

[1] Create an Affiliate Income Opportunity – you can open an income opportunity to people who are interested in making money without having to create a product of their own through affiliate programs and directories. So long as you provide them a hefty commission of 50% to 75%, they would not mind selling on your behalf.

[2] You can establish a Joint Venture with E-zine Publishers as long as you provide them a chance to earn a percentage of your sales, say. 50 – 75%.

[3] You can comb the Internet for quality prospects. Membership web site owners and webmasters of your niche product are good targets. Send them a personal e-mail and get them to be interested in reviewing your product via the sales letter.

They will purchase your product for their own use or resell it and keep all the profits to themselves. What you are looking for is someone with great marketing power. As long as you have created a good back-end profit in the product, you will earn residual income more effectively by leveraging on other people’s marketing power.

This method is one of my favorites as most resellers actually do not bother to do the STP method – See Ten People a day.

[4] You can create a free report or E-book for viral marketing purposes and circulate it in your network. This is yet my other favorite. In the report or E-book, you provide free but useful information on a subject having to do with the product you are selling. Just be sure that it is not really a cloaked sales letter altogether. This will in turn, lead targeted prospects to your sales letter thus increasing your chances of making sales.

[5] Write articles having to do with your web site product. While you are not to write cloaked sales letters and submit them to article directories, writing and giving free information to people who are searching for it gives you credibility as you prove your worth. Again, this can result in targeted leads to your website and sales letter through your web site link in your resource box.

[6] Announce and promote your product in your mailing list. The bigger and higher quality your subscriber list is, the more sales you can make.

While there are certainly more ways you can do to promote your website and drive targeted leads into your sales letter for good conversion rate of sales (let us not forget the back-end profits your product can also create!), most of these marketing plans can be followed easily with little to no cost on your part.

Be aware that the reseller business is pretty tough competition. You already win half the battle just by having the latest hot product to start with, more advantage if the product is not saturated yet.

There you have it – what you need to start your very own resell rights business!

Being a reseller myself, you are free to ask me any questions on starting your own resell rights business.

Have a great time!

Starting an Online Business: Knowledge is King!

Starting an Online Business: Knowledge is King!

Writen by Craig Ritsema

Excuse me, but shouldn’t that be “Content is King” instead? Well, it’s not that simple anymore, knowledge is needed first.

In days gone by, you could start an online business by simply setting up a website and adding content. You still can, but the question now is: Will anyone come and spend or click? The online world is becoming more competitive every day; success is no longer guaranteed by simply adding content.

Ok, so knowledge is required. What kind?

YOU NEED TO KNOW A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY to select. Oh, Oh. There’s that word again – “legitimate”. What exactly is that?

I use Microsoft Word. So I right-clicked on “legitimate” and then clicked on “Look Up” to see how it is defined. The dictionary defined it as “complying with the law, or under the law.” Well, you certainly do not want to start an “unlawful” business.

In cases like this I always like to look at the Thesaurus words to gain additional insight. The English version lists words such as: lawful, rightful, legal, genuine, justifiable, valid, reasonable and acceptable.

These words help to expand the idea of legitimate. In particular I see legal, genuine and justifiable as reasonable expectations for starting an online business working from home.

Problem is, you need to be a rocket scientist now to be able to decipher whether an opportunity is real or not.

I recently was presented an opportunity for a new Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) company. For those unfamiliar with the terminology this kind of business succeeds when you recruit others who are below you to sell a.k.a. pyramid. The financial rewards for this business model can be extremely rewarding.

Now in reality, all businesses are pyramids. Generally, one person is at the top, while many workers are at the bottom.

The difference is that most businesses do not derive their income simply from recruiting or employing others – this is what makes the pyramid illegal. They need products to sell which allow income to be earned. Without products the business can not sustain itself. The first people who join make all the money, other people who join later make little or no money – this is illegal.

Well this opportunity presented itself with various learning products. However, the “opportunity” portion of the website was being opened in beta, pre-release before the “products” were available on the website.

Further, the opportunity was presented in such a way that one would think that they were getting paid their commission on everyone joining the program after them – whether or not they personally recruited them. This was named their corporate power line payout method.

In reality however, this method of payout was a “bonus”. In order to get to that stage you needed people placed under you in your matrix. That’s where it gets to be more work – not as simple as it was made to appear.

Despite this people were signing up – apparently thinking they were getting in at the top because of the “pre-release opportunity” (i.e. no products). In reality, it would appear the business is not sustainable. Hard to tell when you can’t see any products. Someone at the top is definitely making a good deal of money, as I’ve already seen several emails from sources promoting it.

All this to illustrate one carefully (and skillfully) crafted opportunity which on the surface appears legitimate and an easy money maker. However, to evaluate you need to understand exactly what a “pyramid scheme” is, different payout options, and how having products affects your ability to earn money.

A lot of knowledge is required for understanding just this one opportunity. There is a vast variety of online opportunities available. Many are legitimate, but as mentioned earlier you almost need to be a rocket scientist today to know for sure.

YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR MARKET and the potential to succeed in it. If you choose to promote home business opportunities, you have to know that this market is competitive and you’re going to need creativity and persistence to succeed.

Often people are told that a particular market is competitive, yet because everything is new to them, they don’t accept this. This kind of knowledge is learned the hard way and is common. It’s also easy for people to give up rather than accepting it as a lesson learned.

Niche marketing has become very popular. It involves finding some part of the internet where the marketing potential has yet to be explored.

This can indeed be very profitable if you are one of the first to find a particular niche. It takes knowledge however, to determine a profitable one.

It seems that at some point even the “niches” will all be saturated with online businesses. This could happen, but like offline businesses there will always be someone with the right product mix and creativity who will find new profitable niches.

YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PROMOTE your new business. There is no longer one simple method of succeeding today. In the past, simply getting your website in the search engines (SE) top 10 results would guarantee success. Today, even if you could get that high in the SE results, there are certainly no guarantees that you’ll stay there.

There are numerous ways to promote your online business and knowing what these are and how to measure their results takes a good deal of knowledge and experience.

It’s at this stage where “Content is King.” Along with this also requires a good deal of creativity to keep your business a head of the “pack”.

IN SUMMARY IT MAY SEEM TO BE TOO LATE to enter the world of online marketing. Quite the opposite is true. Businesses are becoming more creative in their marketing and more and more products are being sold online, opening the doors for additional partners.

Yes, there is indeed a good amount of knowledge needed to fully understand how to successfully run an online business. But the good news is that there are many companies and people willing to help you learn the knowledge and to succeed.

As mentioned earlier, MLM businesses are structured in such a way where the people above succeed only if those under them succeed. It’s built into the fabric of the program.

The problem with MLM businesses is that turnover is high and commitment is low. As a result it takes time to begin seeing a profit, although once it starts it tends to grow faster and higher.

There are many other legitimate ways to make extra income online. The long term success of good companies depends on helping you to succeed.

Just be prepared to learn. The knowledge learning however, can be fun and rewarding.

Follow a few simple steps to get started:

* Don’t fall for “Get Rich Quick” opportunities. Like many other people have said, if it were that easy they would not be promoting it – they will be “milking it” for all it’s worth.

* Don’t be pressured into “join this opportunity or you’ll miss out”.

* Join a program for free so you can take time to check it out.

* Make sure the program you join has product(s) to sell, from which you can earn commissions along with the business opportunity.

* Look for the program to offer training resources and people to support you in your new business.

* Pick an opportunity that looks interesting to you and something you like to learn more about.

* Give yourself time and commitment – the knowledge will come!

Starting An Internet Business (Have I Missed The Boat?)

Writen by Jim D Williams

Many people who have thought about starting their own internet business don’t pursue it, this is due to the fact that many people believe that that the opportunity to open a successful internet business has already passed them by. This could not be further from the truth, always remember that www stands for world wide web, what does this mean to you, it means that the global reach the internet provides is almost difficult to comprehend.

It’s estimated that by the year 2010 sales generated on the net will surpass 300 billion does that sound like a market that’s ship has already sailed, I think not! The tools that are available to anyone with an internet connection are truly outstanding. They can take a complete novice and completely change how they view the internet, taking it from a source of entertainment to a source of income most of us have never dreamed of.

When you surf the net do you come across a lot of ads for various products or services? Even if you’re not the type of person who frequently makes purchases from the web keep in mind that these ads would not exist if someone wasn’t making money. So why not you? Did you no that you can get your own website up and running in just a few short days at a cost of less then $50 imagine having an overhead like that to get your business started not as risky as one might think.

The number of products available for one to sell is almost limitless you don’t even need your own products you can make a great living just collecting commission for selling someone else’s products. Your web site will be running 24 hours a day 7 days a week earning you money even while your asleep.

I wrote this article in hope of inspiring anyone who reads it that has considered opening an online business to stop second guessing themselves and start making there goal of having an online business a reality.
A few basics you should consider, Rome wasn’t built in a day any new business takes time and effort, make sure you will be able to balance your financial situation while your business is growing. A good plan and goal setting makes all the difference. In most cases you will be able to get your business off the ground well before you have to make any decision about leaving your current job (another huge advantage of online business)

Starting an Internet Business

Writen by Roy Dean

Where to start making money on the Internet?

Are you looking to make money? Do you want to work from home? Are all the online business programs that are available on the Internet confusing you? Will it cost you money to start up?

The Internet as you may well know is becoming the main information highway for the present day. More and more people are buying information, services and products on the Internet every day.

There are two main ways to make money through the Internet, (1) you can create a website selling products/services that you stock and distribute or (2) selling other peoples products/services via a referral that you will then receive a commission for sales and subscriptions.

The first method is usually referred to as an E-commerce business, firstly you will need to produce an e-commerce website with a secured credit card facility to take payments from customers. This type of Internet business is more costly and has a greater risk factor to set up. Due to the fact that you will need e-commerce software with stock control, add to cart facility and email services. You will also need to stock the items that you wish to sell also not forgetting post and packaging expenses to distribute your goods to your customers. The risk for this type of business is higher and will involve more work on your part dealing with orders, corresponding with customers and distributing your products, the start up cost can be relatively high depending on how many products you wish to sell and the level of stock you need to purchase from your suppliers. The day to day running costs can also mount up as there are more services that you need to budget for to maintain an e-commerce website.

The main things you will need to set up an E-commerce website are:

ท E-commerce website software.

ท Secured Credit Card Facility.

ท Shopping Cart.

ท E-mail auto responder facility.

ท Stock.

ท Distribution material.

ท Business Bank Account.

The second main method for creating your own business on the Internet is selling other peoples products/services and is more commonly known as Affiliate Marketing. The main advantages for becoming an Affiliate Marketer is the set up costs and general running costs are lower. It is not necessary to have a secured credit card facility provided through a third party or a shopping cart facility as all your sales are referred to another party/company from whom you will be paid a commission for your referral/sale/subscription. To become an Affiliate Marketer is very easy as there are many Affiliate Program Providers that are FREE to join and you then have access to their directories for thousands of products/services that you can promote through your own website.

The main thing you will need to set up an Affiliate website is:

ท A website.

How much does it cost to set up your own online business?

All forms of business on the Internet incur start up costs, which can vary depending on what you wish to do on the Internet. There are many websites that claim that you can make lots of money through the Internet and that their system is so easy to use that anyone can make a good living from their products, systems, services etc.

In reality if you wish to start your own business on the Internet you have to read between the lines of most sales pitches, there is no such thing as guaranteed success with any type of business whether it be Internet based or Bricks and Malta (shop).

A fair proportion of net users have considered gambling online. Whether for fun or real the internet makes gambling on sports events or though online casinos easy & safe.

It's no surprise that gambling is one of the most searched for terms online with a huge range of established casinos to choose from. With such an audience available, gambling online is also an ideal opportunity for you to make some cash online.

The easiest way of making money from online casinos, without playing yourself is to act as an affiliate. Generally, an affiliate will refer players to the casino and earn a commission of what the player loses.

This is a lot easier than it seems, simply by writing an article about online gambling or reviewing online casinos you could reach an relevant audience & drive traffic towards the casino with your own affiliate link. Submit these articles to some article directories or even though linkmetro and your article will be published on other websites & picked up by search engines.

Commissions vary in scale from affiliate program to program, but you can easily find a program that will pay you between 30% to 50% of what your players gamble.

In fact even the Rich Jerk, the self proclaimed millionaire internet marketer has recently said "If you don't realise you can make millions from internet gambling there's something wrong with you..."

The internet has revolutised the way most people live, & it can also make it easy for anyone to launch your own business. Almost anyone can now start selling online within hours without the need for a merchant accounts, business plans or mountains of paperwork. In this series of articles I've put together my top seven ways to cash in online.

1) eBay & online actions

Everyones heard of eBay! Online auctions are huge & best of all simple to use when you get started. So, eBay introduces a wide range of opportunities to make an additional income from the internet. One of the easiest methods of profiting from eBay is acting as a Trading Assistant.

A Trading Assistant is simply an eBayer who sells other peoples items in exchange for a fee & a commission. The owner of the item will send the item to the eBay Trading Assistant, who then takes care of all the selling process including photographing, describing, listing & shipping the item to it's new owner after the auction is finished.

Any costs associated with selling the item are reclaimed & the Trading Assistant normally charges at least 25% of the final items auction price as well. If you sell an item for ฃ100, your commission will be ฃ25 plus eBay fees.

The quickest way to set yourself up as an eBay Trading Assistant is to register with eBay which is free & set yourself up a website so customers can communicate with you. Trading-Web-Solutions.com offers a website purely for this service.

Start with friends & family, collegues at work - after all everyones got stuff lying around the garage that they keep meaning to get rid off or sell. To start with you could offer to sell it on a no-sale, no-fee basis to get people talking about your business & the services you offer.

Setting Up Your Business Website...

Setting Up Your Business Website...

Writen by Peter Andrues

Setting up a business website can seem like a daunting task. By utilizing a few common sense tips you can simplify the process and make the process much more efficient and profitable.

Content, Content, Content...

Having high quality, relevant content that is informative to your prospective customers is the number one rule of web design. Your website's goal is to generate interest and provide a product or service to those who are searching for assistance. The best way to do this is to have fresh, useful content on your site. Write short comments and articles about subjects your customers would be interested in. Take this article for example. My target market is "Small Business Owners with websites" so this article provides tips and hints about website design. When I posted this article on the internet, it became listed in the search engines and directories, and generated website traffic from my desired target market, "YOU".

Hire a Professional Web Designer.

People specialize in certain industries. You don't try to fix your own broken arm; you hire a doctor who specializes in that treatment. Web design really can be a tricky business and is probably something that you shouldn't try to do yourself, unless you have a lot of time or experience in the industry. You can use the Internet to find specialists who will design your site. Since you can search for these experts globally, you will find it is inexpensive and easy to hire one of them to do the job. There are a host of well qualified experts in countries such as India or Taiwan, who are willing to work for a much lower fee than what you would pay your local web designer. You can receive a design proposal online by checking out websites that act as an agent for programmers and webmasters such as: elance.com or rentacacoder.com

Practice Search Engine Optimization.

You are competing with millions of other websites in cyberspace, each one vying to reach the top of the listings in the major search engines. Search Engine Optimization techniques are a quick and inexpensive way to propel your website to the top of these listings for your desired search terms. Using basic search engine techniques such as sprinkling phrases you think your customers will be searching for throughout your website is the first step. You should also use those phrases, also known as keywords, in the titles of your web pages such as: www.mysite.com/business-website. There is a whole industry specializing in the art of search engine optimization. If you desire professional assistance, just type the term "Search Engine Optimization" into your favorite search engine and you'll find many resources to assist you.

Provide Prominent Contact Information.

A new customer is taking a leap of faith when they choose to purchase from you, an unknown entity online. Entering one's credit card numbers into an order form over the internet is usually the biggest obstacle you will have to overcome. In order to gain the trust of your customer you must be forthcoming and available with your contact information. At the very least, you will need to list your email address on your site, as a clickable link. You must reply to their emails in a timely manner (less than 24 hours), with a personal email, not a form letter. You should also list your physical address prominently on the front page of your website. If your physical address is your home address and you are uncomfortable listing it online, then rent a Post Office box for your business and use that address. The very best way to instill confidence in your customers is to provide a telephone number on your website. Make sure that if you are not available you have a voice mail system for messages and make sure that you return these telephone calls in a timely manner.

Update Your Site Regularly.

Your customers and the Search Engines love fresh information. By updating your information on a regular basis (daily, weekly, etc.) you'll give your customers a reason to stop back by your site to see what's new! Frequent updating will also cause the Internet Search Engines to visit your site regularly to check for your new content and this will also increase your online presence.

Set Up a Weblog "BLOG".

One of the best ways to post that fresh content on your website is to keep a weblog. A "BLOG" is a series of entries posted in sequence starting with the most recent. You can quickly log into your BLOG and post fresh new content, (a few paragraphs or sentences), and have it updated in a matter of minutes. Since BLOG's are text based you don't need to have any programming skills, just type the information in and hit update. Make sure that you keep the information that you post relevant only to your industry and business. If you want to let people know that your vacation was great of you're a new grandfather, start a personal blog or create a new website for that information.

Secrets to Online Business Revealed

Secrets to Online Business Revealed

Writen by Terry Tay

Now, lets understand why some people are successful with their online business and some not. The problem lies with individuals who think that just by sitting in front of their computers or laptops hoping that potential customer will come to them. No! you will definitely not get any form of targeted customer.

You have got to put in some effort into your online business. Those that do will see the results in weeks. Marketing your online business effectively is one of the key factors to drive traffic to your website. This is when people see your products; chances are that some will purchase them. Simply putting your website online is not going to draw anyone to it which many people fail because they don’t see the need to market it.

Here are 5 pointers in developing an effective online business:

1. Firstly, you need to have a product. Select a company with products that you are comfortable with. Besides selecting a comfortable product, you will need to understand if the company is suitable, do a general check on how long is the company in the market and how well are they selling their product. These are the 2 determinates that you want to look out for.

2. Planning is important! Take some time out to come out with a marketing plan. Do a target setting, set goals that u want to achieve within the next few months. Set reasonable and realistic goal that you are capable of achieving with the given time. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

3. Execute your plan, stay focus and follow closely to your marketing plan. Don’t get distracted with other non related issues. You won’t want to jeopardize your plan after putting much effort in planning and setting up.

4. Do a general reflection after the first month to see if you are on track. Like all businesses, problems do surfaces at times. Adjust yourself, and address to the problems. If you must, approach the right people for help, seek their opinion and advises. You know what is best for your business, so do your own final conclusion.

5. Needless to say, working in groups or teams is better off working alone. Form a team, with members of a common mindset, exchange skills, pointers and boost one another’s morale and capabilities.

Follow these steps carefully and you will be able to see results over the next 6 – 12 months. Stay focus and work within your time frame. In no time, you will be able to make that extra income that you desire for. Remember! Efforts today, rewards tomorrow!

New Law for Online Marketing Newbies

New Law for Online Marketing Newbies

Writen by Mike Considine

Although I am not a fan of the government trying to regulate anything to do with the Net, there should be a required disclaimer on every marketing tool and strategy sold that simply says… “This purchase is just the beginning. You are required to spend thousands of more dollars and work much harder then you ever would at your full time job if you really want to succeed online”

I would never support the government trying to pass such a law, but to get the point across that is how important I think it is that people understand just how much time and money they need to plan on devoting to an online business. I know that is not what you read on those millions of sites trying to sell you the best thing sense e-mail, but the truth needs to be told.

Most people start out by trying to build an online business on the cheap, after all that is what they have been told they can do, and that’s why they are online to begin with. The truth is no matter if it’s Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing or selling your own product, it’s going to take time and money to be successful. You won’t see that wrote in bold letters on any website promoting a program or a marketing tool. Yet every successful online business person knows in there own heart how much time effort and money they have put into building their own online business. They don’t talk or write about it because it’s a negative, and negatives don’t sell. People are looking for an easier and better way when they are looking for their business making money online opportunity, so the gurus highlight that part of the business and forget about telling you how much work it was to get where they are at today.

You can’t blame them for that, after all they are in business to make money. Funny thing is every sales letter I ever read, every piece of marketing software I ever bought, I always wondered one thing. If this is really so easy and will really make me so much money, why wouldn’t the owner keep this a secret? I just don’t think I would be as willing to share a secret that was making me a ton of money. Especially knowing that on the Internet anything that even works a little bit soon becomes exploited to the point where it becomes less effective. I guess I just don’t have as big of heart as those millions of website owners selling their secrets strategies.

Truth is I do purchase many software packages and continue to purchase training materials to the tune of thousands of dollars. I don’t spend this money because I’m a shopaholic (I leave that job for my wife) I spend it because it is necessary to keep up with the ever changing Net.

I would best compare online marketing tools to the stars in outer space… You have new stars being created everyday. They are all in different stages of their life cycle, some are new and some are old and ready to burn out. Others get devoured by a black whole. The new starts could be compared to the fresh new marketing ideas and they hold the greatest promise for success but who knows how long they will last. The older starts could be compared to all those programs and software packages that seem to hang around because there is always someone new looking for answers and willing to purchase anything that has a good sales pitch. Then you have those tools that get sucked into a black whole… will call this black whole Google’s revenge (that’s another article.)

I don’t know who first said this, but it is something I live by… “The only thing that’s constant is change” that statement was first made about the off-line world and you can multiply that by a million for the online world. That continues change is the very reason you must be prepared to continue to spend thousands of dollars to build a successful online business. Only you can decide if you have the upfront money and the time to devote to building a successful business. If you at least now understand and accept the fact that it does take both, than you can make an intelligent decision on what to do next.

Money to be Made Online

Money to be Made Online

Writen by Keith Londrie

Money, money, money! This annoying, green paper rules our
capital-dependant lives. How can we obliterate the necessity
for cash and all just live lives like Paris Hilton? Well, we
can't. The fact will always remain that money is mandatory
for living well. These days, people are finding money in all
sorts of venues. Many of us even use the Internet to make
money online. If you're not familiar with this concept,
then where have you been the past decade? In this computer-based
world it's not so difficult to start a business and make money online.

When Ebay hit the virtual highway, many of us just considered
it a place to find things for a good price, or maybe locate
that special something you can't find in a store. However,
don't forget it's a place to sell as well. All of that junk
you have in the garage, and all those boxes of clothes, toys,
and books you've stuck away in the storage room, well it's
all merchandise these days. Why not use it to make money
online? I was talking to my sister in-law last week and she
tossed out a question about Ebay. I told her how it works
and that I made use of its selling services, but never purchased
before. She seemed rather taken back. She wanted to know
what I sold, and how much profit I made. I was dumbfounded
that she had never tried it. This is simply because they
have such a huge collection of "stuff." I told her she should
get rid of her garage full of things they never use and make
some cash in the process. Her face lit up with anticipation.

There are many ways to make money online. If you have an
interest or passion, which I'm sure you do, simply type in a few
keywords on Google. You'll find results fast. Whether you're
a day trader or a writer, there are positions to be found on
the world-wide-web. You no longer have to resort to a business
or company for your daily wages. The world is certainly becoming
more Internet based. Many individuals have started Internet
companies and businesses, which they manage from the privacy of
their own home. Therefore, if you dread crawling out of bed in
the morning and dragging yourself to that same old routine cubicle,
maybe it's time that you looked into methods of making money online.
Ebay has workers. Check out what all they have to offer, or search
the job databases for jobs that entail working from home. With the
Internet growing like it is, there will only be an increase in
opportunities to make money online.

Making money online is simple IF you have the correct resources.
The most valuable resource that I have is the Ebook by Keith Londrie II
entitled "Money to be made Online".
You can read more about it and get it at http://moneytobemadeonline.com/.

Moneymaking Opportunites on the Net

Moneymaking Opportunites on the Net

Writen by Vinny Chia

Everyone has come across opportunities to make money on the net, be it starting your own business, being an affiliate member, autosurf programs, high yield investment programs (HYIP) etc. The list is endless and each program has its fair share of winners and skeptics.

Each venture has its amount of risk, be it in time, effort and finances. The norm is that the higher the risk, the better the returns. This is especially true for the autosurf and HYIP sites where the latter has sites advertising 100%+ profits in 24hrs for pretty much doing nothing except surfing or depositing, of course the risk factor has a direct correlation with the advertised returns!

The more stimulating and challenging, but equally rewarding is that of affiliate marketing, where an affiliate earns a commission for every sale made through his/her personal efforts be it through websites, emails or others. There are numerous internet gurus out there willing to share their secrets for a price to pave your road to success in the internet, teaching the various tried methods to drive traffic to your site, to reach out to millions etc.

The initial learning curve is steep but if you diligently follow through the steps, things do get remarkably clearer as one advances deeper.

What is involved in affiliate marketing? For starters, a small budgeting fund to secure the rights of a good program, setting up a site and advertising. Consider this as an investment to your future wealth, an exchange of a current expenditure for future easier spending when your pockets are fuller! Or take it as tuition fees for a course in internet marketing if all else fails in convincing oneself.

Within the downloads, there are many good tips and strategies for increasing your site’s visibility via search engines, joining top affiliate sites, adsense, profiting from ebay, sales letters etc. effectively the ‘how tos’ to optimize returns from your site(s).

Every journey must start from somewhere, be it simply opening a door to take the first step or hitting that Enter key on your keyboard. Cash will not simply drop into your laps but have to say that the process has been simplified by these internet gurus.

Currently, one such program has an attractive web site builder package included when one signed up as a VIP member. For those daunted by the prospect of having to design and build a site, this will take a load off one’s mind. This alone is a good enough reason for some already!

Keep at it and keep an open mind, experimenting as you move along and the rewards will be more than the effort invested!

This is my very first article, a summary of what I have learnt from various programs coupled with lessons taught by various gurus.

Making Money With A Website

Making Money With A Website

Writen by Robert Dinc

Many people tend to be very excited when they learn that they can make money online by creating a website. However, most of them are pretty much clueless on how to achieve this goal.

Building a money-machine website is not really tough to create, but it definitely requires hard work. Moreover, you also have to sacrifice your valuable time by writing content for your website constantly.

In order to build a money-making website, the first step you need to take is to choose a topic that you have a great passion for. Everyone has at least one subject that they love to write or talk about. What’s yours?

Then, before launching your website, you must write at least 500 words for each aspect of your subject and save the texts on your computer. This is the part that consumes a lot of time and necessitates real hard work. Actually, it may be nagging for you to write all the time, but I believe if you like what you are writing about, it should not really bother you much. For this reason, I always insist people to choose a subject that suits them.

You need to make sure you have at least 15 pages before launching your website online by submitting it to search engines. However, for the third step, you must first register a domain name and buy a monthly Web hosting package from a registrar. But be careful, do not just go with any registrar. There are many that sell packages for an outrageous amount of money. You should avoid them at all cost! Instead, I would recommend you to go with a company like GoDaddy or PowWeb that have reasonable prices.

Once you have done all of this, your next step is to promote your website in order to receive visitors. Keep in mind that it’s not all about going and submitting your website to Google and expect to be ranked in the top ten lists within a week. You should first try to visit other websites that are related to your website’s subject and e-mail the webmaster so you can ask her if she can add a link of your website on her own website. If she agrees to do so, you can also in return reward her by adding a link to her website on yours. Basically, in order to have a better ranking on search engines, you need other websites linking to yours.

Finally, if you judge that you’re receiving enough visitors daily to your website, you should then register with a Pay Per Click program such as Google Adsense and put their ads on your website. Also, I would suggest you to join affiliate programs that are related to your website’s subject and promote their products by reviewing them for your visitors.

In general, if you do this correctly, after six months, normally, you should be making hundreds of dollars per month. If you are patient person and love what you do, money will come by itself, trust me.

Robert Dinc provides you tips and tools in order to build a successful website with all the in-depth explanations you need to know at http://www.websiteconstructiontutorial.com

Making Money Over the Internet by You Web Based Business : 5 Simple Steps

Making Money Over the Internet by You Web Based Business : 5 Simple Steps

Writen by Kannan Balakrishnan

Getting rich is the dream of many. And internet is a good medium to get rich fast. But one has to do a great deal of homework and consistent effort to get rich. In this article I will outline the simple five step procedure to make money using internet.

Step 1: Have a basic knowledge about internet.

Internet is a vibrant medium. It is also highly dynamic and evolving. What is selling today may be considered garbage tomorrow. So anybody planning to do an internet business should have a basic knowledge about internet, its evolving trends and the possibilities.

Step 2: Get a business idea.

If you think that you have ingenuity, originality and enough time, you can workout your own business idea. Or if you are ready to research a little you can get enough articles discussing original business ideas. If you are a butterfly on the internet, you can adapt the idea from a successful business site (of course without infringing the intellectual property rights) and make your own variations of it. If you are still lazier you can approach a consultant for the purpose. The important thing is that you must have an idea.

Step 3: Work out the idea to minute detail.

An abstract idea like “I should have a site selling books” will not fetch you money. So many things have to be decided upon. What content you should have on the site, how you interact with customers, how do you prevent frauds, how do you advertise your site and so on. Another very important thing is the user interface .In all these things a consultant may be of help to you, but if you want to learn and innovate he may be a hindrance too. This phase is a little time consuming, but it lets you weave dreams about your business. Also it is advised to document your design dreams. because these forms the blueprint of your business.

Step 4. Implement the business:

Once you have the complete idea of a web business you must start implementing it. If your site permits you can go for an incremental implementation, starting with a minimum set of features and adding new features gradually. This will help you to start earning from an early stage. The advertisement can go side by side. In many phases you may have to get external help or advice.

Step 5. Constantly improvise.

As I have said earlier trends in internet are changing at a rapid phase and if you do not make changes in the interface and working style of your site will not be liked by people. So you must constantly watch competing or similar sites and evolve your site over time. The feedback from the users is a good indicator in this regard. Also you must be willing to diversify ,expand and even divert your business according to market forces and user needs.

I would like to get your feedback regarding this article. Please feel free to mail me your opinions.

Making Money on the Internet - the Jeff Bezos Way

Making Money on the Internet - the Jeff Bezos Way

Writen by Rick Tanzo

Almost every website on the Internet has one goal in mind: how to make money fast - at the lowest cost possible. In fact, my website - googlingprofit.com - has making money on the Internet for a theme.

The purpose of this article is to share with budding webmasters and those intending to make their presence felt on the world wide web, the lessons learned from the early successes of Amazon.com - the online store founded by Jeff Bezos - one of the business leaders in today's Information age.

Here are the lessons learned from Jeff Bezos' early successes with Amazon.com - which I hope will be of valuable help to you.

Lesson One: Have a Goal

You must have a goal. From the moment Jeff Bezos envisioned to make his presence felt on the Internet, he spared nothing to attain his goal.

Lay down and make known in clear fashion your goal to every stake holder of your Internet business. These include your spouse, your web designer, and your assistants, if any.

When Amazon was struggling to make a profit for the first time, only its founder Jeff Bezos believed that his business goal could be achieved. Everybody was astounded when Jeff Bezos achieved his goal after one year from pronouncing his goal.

You can write your goal on a piece of paper and post this on the wall beside your desk. Save this goal in your hard disk. If possible make your goal the start up page when your computer boots up. Convert your goal into a screensaver. Read your goal to yourself every day as you go about your business.

Lesson Two: Motivate Yourself

You should motivate yourself every day and pass this motivation on to every one who's involved in your business. Jeff Bezos did not lack motivation when he was struggling in his business.

To paraphrase Wallace D. Wattles who wrote the 1910 best selling book, The Science of Getting Rich, envision yourself right now as having a very successful business and do every legal and ethical way to actualize your vision. You can learn more about Wallace Wattle's book from the this webpage: internetmarketingleaningcenter.com/inspirational/ebook.html.

Lesson Three: Adapt to Change

It is said that change is the one single permanent thing on this planet (i.e., next to taxes). Amazon changed the way it does business through the years. First it was an online book seller. Next it expanded into selling music and videos.

An an Internet entrepreneur you must also learn how to adapt to change. Change comes and goes. For example, in the early years of the Internet, people were wary of using credit cards in their online transactions.

Nowadays, the use of credit card is is like coffee in the morning. You can't do without it.

Then there is the growing realization that blogs are not just for personal records. Blogs are here to stay - to help your business grow.

Lesson Four: Have a Business Model

Since we are on the topic of Amazon, you could use Amazon as your model. You could run your own business like Amazon during its early years.

You could be selling your single information product now. Two weeks from today you will have added another back end product. Next month you will have introduced into your product line the inventory of the affiliate programs you have joined in.

Lesson Five: Add Content to your Website

If your web site is content based, you should be adding new content every day. Casual visitors to your web site will become your regular guests when they see new content every time they come to your site. These visitors will in the end become your regular customers.

Lesson Six: Be a Generalist

A generalist is one who does a multitude of things. In computer language this is known as multi-tasking. This has been the culture at Amazon. You as the single person in your own business must be a generalist, too. This means doing and knowing everything that goes in and out of your enterprise.

You don't know any HTML coding? This is tolerable. You must strive however to understand at least the basic formatting that goes into you site code. This way you can make small insertions into your web pages when your web designer is nursing a cold or is out of town. Or you can learn a thing or two on scripting.

By the way, you will learn a lot about succeeding in your own business from the free resources offered at googlingprofit.com.

Lesson Seven: Let Your Work Ethic Shows

Jeff Bezos was the company CEO and he and his wife were the first workers at Amazon. Their work ethic was marked with hard work and consistency, among others. These traits were handed down to their employees through the years.

To succeed and last long in your Internet business, you should work hard to put your business online in the fastest and frugal manner possible. The important thing to consider is to start up and put your small business online early and rapidly. If you have to wake up at two in the morning to do your Internet work, by all means stick to this routine.

Rick Tanzo enjoins you to contantly strive to make money on the Internet. You can get all the info you need - including articles and the latest business news - to make your profit online at http://www.googlingprofit.com

Making Money On The Internet - Is It Possible?

Making Money On The Internet - Is It Possible?

Writen by Stephen Mcbride

Making money on the internet is becoming more and more appealing to people, as they see the potential out there on the worldwide web. It seems that everyone is seemingly earning money on the internet! Stories abound of huge and easy profits to be made over the internet. But of course making money on the internet is just like every other business opportunity – it IS possible, but it can take a lot of effort and perhaps more hard work than most people realise.

There are many people who started out creating websites at home with the purpose of making money on the internet. Some of these people have been very successful, small sites which started life in someones back bedroom, have now become global online empires. I'm talking about sites like Ebay, and the hugely successful UK site, Friends reunited. These websites have now become household names and of course have been very lucrative in terms of a successful online business.

It's unlikely that most of us will ever obtain that sort of success with our small online venture, but of course there is still plenty of room for the smaller player who wants to start generating some sort of income from the internet. There are thousands of ideas that can be turned into a profitable online venture. Making money on the internet takes time, it isn't an overnight thing, but perserve with your idea and you could be one of the many thousands of people who are earning a steady income on the internet every day.

There are limitless websites which can be set up with the intention of making money on the internet. You could run your own auction website, run a local classifieds website, a dating site, sell things on Ebay – the list is endless! You don't have to spend hundreds of pounds or dollars setting up a website, there are many sources online where you can get a website built for under $100 (ฃ60). Just search for 'scripts' or search for 'cheap website design'.

If you have decided you would like to glean some sort of revenue from the internet, then the time is right to give it a try. Just do a little research on your ideas and see what others are doing to make money on the internet. Have a look at what online business opportunites are available and remember not all opportunites are created to permit you to make money on the internet - many 'opportunities' are nothing short of scams, set up to let others to make money on the internet at your expense.

Remember there are thousands of people like you who would like to be making money on the internet. Just do your research and think before you jump. There are an awful lot of people who have lost money through ill-researched online business ventures. However start small, learn and develop, and you could have yourself a nice little sideline as a webmaster.

Making Money On The Internet From Scratch Is Not Easy...But Does Hype Help?

Making Money On The Internet From Scratch Is Not Easy...But Does Hype Help?

Writen by Geoff Barraclough

If you are anything like me when you first heard that there is masses of money to be made on the Internet you thought ok, let’s have some of it then! You perhaps ‘googled’ Home Business Opportunities – or Make Money – or ‘I want loads of Dosh’ (there are more than half-million entries for that! – amazing!) – or whatever…And then you must have thought – oh heck! (or words that effect!!!)
How Many????

How do you choose from all the millions of ‘biz ops’ out there…?

I know I’ll go for the ones that promise me lots of noughts for only a few minutes a day of work? Of course that’s what we want so you/we send off our $47.00 here and $27.00 there and if you/we are particularly gullible even the occasional $97.00 here and there! And all we end up doing is making big money for other people (but that was not the idea though was it?) and getting an electronic library full of books all telling us (in so many words) the same thing!

Yes, the Internet does have countless millions of people logging on every day
wanting information, entertainment, news, products and – yes, home business opportunities! – but also there are millions of people all trying to sell the same stuff to these people. The competition is pretty intense for their dollars – or pounds or euros – or whatever! And of course people being people - they will try anything to gain your/my attention for the goods, information and services they are trying to sell.

And so as we surf and search for our ideal home business opportunities we come across some of the most amazing HYPE (highly exaggerated advertising/claims) ever invented!

So a little bit of advice – don’t take too much notice of any ads you may see that claim -
“You will Explode your Income” (unless, of course, it’s from a pyrotechnics company!)

Then there is the
“Earn $100.000.00 in 4 months – risk free” (yeah right!)
or
“Create an Unstoppable Avalanche of Eager Buyers”….(eh? - Think about that one?)

"Use my Marketing System exactly as I describe and with some time and effort on your part you can earn some money" may not sound as sexy as -

"My Marketing System will Launch your Earnings into Orbit" (what does this mean? - unless it’s from NASA inviting you to put your savings aboard the next space shuttle!)

but it is a much more realistic expectation. The second headline is just meaningless hype. And I HATE Hype don’t you?

Another trick that really gets my goat – is the buy now or loose offer – if you don’t buy today you will have pay double because I will put the price up – (yeah sure!) months later – or even years in some cases – you hit the same website and guess what…yep - the offer is still EXCATLY the same!
Of course it is!!!

The final thing I need to mention here before I get to the main reason for this article is how do Internet Marketers come up with the values for their products? My e-book is worth $97.00 but you can have it free!….eh? Do you know anybody in this World who would go into a regular bookstore and pay $97.00 for a book? I’ll tell you I don’t that’s for sure! And if the book is REALLY worth $97.00 do you think you would get it for nothing…?

Ok, the idea for this article is not to be negative – there ARE thousands and thousands of good online home businesses available on the Internet – but I promise you this, you will not make any money in any of them without any effort.

If you are looking to start an Online Home Business and you want the best piece of advice that I can give you… Whatever you choose to do (even if it takes you lots of trail and error to decide) just STAY FOCUSED. Persistence, honestly, is the ONLY attribute you need to be successful online.

Making money on the Internet from scratch is NOT easy – do not believe anyone who tells you it is – but it is easier if you do one thing at a time – and do not hop about from one enticing and exciting program to the next being taken in by all the hype – like I did. Yes, you my gain some useful experience doing this – but you will also quickly become very frustrated and end up pointlessly spending too much money and getting nowhere.

Of course, I understand the Marketers requirement for Hype – but is there anyone out there who actually likes it – and is there not a better way of selling?

Teacher and recently successful (hurray…phew, at last I’ve done it!) Online Home Business owner Geoff Barraclough offers some thing quite unique – hype-less advice, information, help, assistance - and some good ideas for anyone starting the rocky road to Online Home Business Ownership.

Making Money On The Internet

Introduction

Another day of surfing online, browsing around, looking for an opportunity of making money on the internet? Many things seems to be alike. You start asking yourself, "Should I try by joining or buying the product?" "Which one seems more reliable?" "What if this is a scam!?" You can try to do more research on the particular subject but in the end, after gathering the many opinions, there are bound to be some good views, some bad views. The final decision came, to take the risk or not? This is where I hope this article can give you a better understanding about the many opportunities of making money on the internet.

First of all, those who are making money will definately give good views on the particular way of generating the revenue or unless they have the intention to scam your money. One important note is that you need to know the sum of capital you are willing to invest. This is to ensure that you will be not pumping too much money as a learning fee especially to scams. You won't feel good after that.

There are many things out there you can find, MLM, paid surveys, affiliate programmes, selling things on ebay, etc. Everyone of them has their individual characteristics and could be the opportunity for you to earn money on the internet. If you observed carefully, it actually links back to the first point and again you got to see how much you have set aside for these money-making online opportunities. Next, it is your interest and personality.

MLM

Some will prefer MLM maybe because of the products or/and the usually lucrative compensation plan. To what I see, MLM requires a good and helpful sponsor, your personal contacts, hard work. You can really earn if you can reach that certain level of your group and start receiving great residual income. But how much time do people usually take to be there? Do you have that patience?

Affiliate programmes

Sometimes, you might bumped onto websites selling programmes that will enable you to start earning money quickly after some easy steps and they showed you the proof of their earings too. For such programmes, it will be good that they be guanranteed full refund(usually they are)if not satisfied.

It is true that you can start making money on the internet quickly but you must prepare the amount you are willing to set for advertisments fee. Basically, you are required to set up ads via google, yahoo, etc for the products from the publisher or the affiliate company and earn the commission which can be as high as 75% when someone decides to buy it from your link.

Heard from a friend that a person actually managed to earn about $5000 on a particular day but she had set aside about $200 for advertising it. And of course there are cases where some people did not make a profit setting up the ads.

You can be an affiliate by promoting products on your site if you have one. These products could be the same as mentioned above or they could also be contextual ads if you are an affiliate with google adsense, yahoo publisher network, etc.

Investment programmes

There also many investment programmes if you search carefully and all of these programmes really offer good interest rates for the amount you invest. But as lucrative as it can get, it is also as risky as it can get. They will not be responsible for any loss of money.

Some programmes are really genuine. They have reliable ways of earning therefore really able to offer you good returns. And if it is so, this would be one good way of making money on the internet. Mostly could be scams which offer returns as high as 200% and required you to invest only a minimum small amount. It could be a ponzi therefore only able to pay you initially. But when you invest more, it might not be able to pay you. Or it will not even pay you back at all in the first place.

For such programmes, one really got to research carefully on the company and see whether it is reliable and stable to stay long term. Those who have chose the right companies to invest really gain alot from them. Some would even said investing in such programmes is like playing stocks. You got to choose the right companies. But at least in the stock market, you own part of the company and there is always a possibility the value will rise more than when you acquired the shares or you can sell it if you are able to, to recover some loss. For this, all the money you have invested could be gone for good.

For more knowledge

You may want to buy some ebooks to learn more about the particular subject you like or to find out other ways of making money on the internet. Sometimes, it is worth the money if it can really guide you and answer your queries.

Conclusion

Opportunities of making money on the internet can be found everywhere. Most importantly, remember to set an amount of money you are willing to invest online and best not to overshot your limit. Check out more on the particular subject, make sure it is more reliable before you invest your money in it. Sometimes you got to take some risk If you want to invest online, but you can limit those risk.

Come to the edge, He said.

They said: we are afraid.

Come to the edge, He said.

They came. He pushed them,

And they flew...

Making Money on Myspace

Making Money on Myspace

Writen by Maryann Morrison

Myspace is now one of the largest social networks on the internet and even in the world. With over 105 million account sign-ups and over 15 million unique users, myspace is a great place to make a lot of money. So how exactly do you do this?

The first thing you are going to need is a myspace tool to help you out. Unless you want to manually add friends, comment, send messages and post bulletins. Doing this stuff manually not only takes forever, but if you are trying to make money on myspace I believe it is a waste of time.

Why would you this stuff manually when you can have a program to do it for you? There are all sorts of programs out there that can help you do this. The one I use is actually one of the only one that allows unlimited myspace accounts for a one time fee which is very powerful. Having to pay for a myspace tool for every myspace account you are going to advertise with can be very expensive and in the end, not even worth it.

So how can you make money exactly? You have to build your friends lists and keep in touch with your "friends". There are certain ways to target any group of people, but I cannot reveal all of the tricks. It took me a couple of months to get a working system together on myspace to make hundreds of dollars a day. You just have to find out what works and how to target certain groups of people.

Myspace is surely somewhere it is possible to make hundreds, or if you do it right and spend a lot of time, even thousands of dollars a day. And the great thing is...it is all free advertising.

Advertising Costs Getting Too High?

Advertising Costs Getting Too High?

Writen by Diane Hughes

Everyone knows that advertising is essential to growing a business. One problem that small business owners have always faced is the high cost of marketing. Most, however don't realize that there is an effective way to reduce the cost of your advertising while - at the same time - increasing its reach.

Advertising co-ops are nothing new. Usually they are a "perk" offered by major manufacturers to encourage retailers to promote their products. Because the retailer has direct access to customers that would want to buy certain products, it only makes sense that they should do joint advertising. You've seen it - McDonalds mentioning Coke in their commercials, Dell stating that you get a free Epson printer with purchase and so on.

The retailer doesn't make the product the manufacturer is providing, but it IS a great match with what they DO offer. Nobody would want to eat a Big Mac without something to drink, and a computer wouldn't do a lot of good without a printer.

Now you can use this same strategy to create your own advertising co-op to increase the reach of your ads and drastically reduce the cost, too.

--- How It Works

Generally speaking, the cost of any advertisements (bulk emailings, ezine ads, banners, newspaper, etc.) would be split equally between all participants. If you and two associates decide to purchase a solo ad, you would each receive equal mentions in the ad and you would each pay equal portions of the cost.

So if the solo ad were going to a list of 200,000 and cost $150, each of the three would pay $50. You get to reach 200,000 people for 1/3 the cost you would have normally paid. And, because this ad relates you to other types of businesses, you actually expand your advertising reach.

--- Getting Started

So who would be qualified to enter into an ad co-op with you? It depends on the nature of your business. Think of others that reach your same target customer and make a list. If you design Web sites, you might approach hosting companies, graphic artists, copywriters or programmers. If your business is landscaping, you could invite yard maintenance companies to join you.

Once you have a list of one or more business types, think of current associates you know who belong to those groups. Also, ask others if they know of any reliable businesses that fall into the categories you've outlined.

--- Making the Approach

When you have a list of businesses to approach, simply write or email them with your offer. Be sure to point out the benefits such as:

* a win-win situation

* reduced cost of advertising

* expanded reach of advertising

* larger, more prominent ads for a fraction of the cost

Also, be sure to ask about the advertising outlets these businesses currently use. You will likely find new avenues that lead to greater exposure.

--- Finalizing the Deal

You'll need to work out payment arrangements with your partners prior to placing the ad(s). The best way I have found to handle the finances is for each party to pay me for their portion of the cost with a credit card. I then place the ad order with MY credit card. This way, you are assured of receiving the dollar amount due to you; and your partners have the assurance that - should you default on your end of the deal - they have recourse for getting their money back.

Working in cooperation with other businesses can lead to tremendous successes with advertising. When like-minded companies pool their resources to reach one target audience, the impact is doubled while the cost is reduced by at least half. That's the best advertising bargain around today!

Advertising Copy: What's Really Important?

Advertising Copy: What's Really Important?

Writen by Michele Schermerhorn

You labor long and hard trying to create the perfect advertising piece but only about 20% of your copy is going to get read. The rest will simply be scanned. After all your work, your potential customers won’t even read every one of those well chosen words. Is your genius lost on them?

While it might sound frightening or frustrating, it's a fact of advertising life. So what do you do next? There are some sections of your copy that potential customers are practically guaranteed to read. If you know what these are, you'll see your sales increase dramatically. There are six key sections of your marketing copy to focus upon for success.

HEADLINES

Headlines have always been and will always be the most important section in any copy.

They are the first thing potential customers will see. They have the greatest impact on whether any of the other copy gets read. Your headlines must be enticing. Think of them as your opening line. If people aren’t intrigued, they won’t read any further.

Use strong active verbs (like slash, chop, quit, etc.) in your headlines. These words clearly demonstrate actions as opposed to more passive words (like reduce, think, consider, etc.). Most of the time, buying is an emotional action. The more you stir the emotions, the more you cause movement toward your ideal customer response.

Pay a lot of attention to your headline. It's the powerhouse of your copy.

SUB-HEADLINES

If your headline has captured your potential customers attention, they will scan the sub-headlines. Think of sub-headlines as chapter titles. These sub-headlines, when read with the headline, should tell your reader the whole story. Always begin writing your advertising copy by outlining using this headline and sub-headline format.

Headlines and sub-headlines are designed to make the sale. Barring that desired outcome, they can guide your visitors to read deeper into your copy. If you set up a structure of progressive sub-headlines, you'll have a better shot getting your point across.

Where do your prospective customers read after the headline and sub-headlines? Typically, they will read any captions you have under pictures in your ad copy.

CAPTIONS UNDER PICTURES

Newspaper journalists were the first to use captions. A caption is a few words below a photograph to explain what the picture is.

People are in the habit of looking for the captions in order to relate the importance of the image with the information they are receiving. Captions in advertising pieces are highly read. Don't waste the space! Don’t just use the caption to explain the picture. Use the caption to sell the product! Use descriptive benefit-oriented words in your captions for maximum impact.

So, they’ve looked at your headline, sub-headlines, and at the captions under your pictures. They might have already made the purchase decision. Congratulations! For those readers that haven’t made the purchase decision yet, let’s flesh out the advertisement with some choice sentences.

FIRST SENTENCES

When you scan a newspaper, what do you read? Almost everyone reads the first sentence or two of each paragraph. These sentences are vitally important. To get your potential customers interested enough to keep reading, add the punch here! Unlike a novel, advertising does not build to the climax. Great ads start with the climax and support its claims in subsequent sentences.

If you create exceptional first sentences, your potential customer will be more likely to continue reading the copy. And, as an added benefit, the first sentences in each paragraph may be enough to convince him/her to buy your product.

Now that you’ve captured their attention and they are reading further, use bulleted lists for benefits.

BULLETED LISTS

First, use bulleted lists when describing features or benefits. A bulleted list will leave more white space around itself and therefore look less intimidating to your reader.

Secondly, as with the first sentence in each paragraph, people also almost always read the first entry in a bulleted list. If it’s on target, they might keep reading. Make sure your first bullet point is extremely powerful and enticing. To keep the potential customer reading, make certain you are writing the copy with their concerns in mind.

The last, but not least, power spot in your copy you probably won’t even use. It’s the call to action.

CALL THEM TO ACTION

The very bottom of your ad copy is the last chance to close the sale! Take advantage of this valuable area. This is where your call to action should reside. What is the call to action? Telling your potential customer what to do next is critical to getting the sale.

A call to action could be “Visit our website today!”, “Call Today for your FREE estimate”, or “Call to Secure Your Seat Today!”. Tell your prospective customer what they need to do to move the acquisition of this beneficial product or service you sell into their home or office.

Time spent on your advertising copy will never be wasted. If you haven't done it before, now is the time to review your copy to be sure you're making the most out of these opportunities. Your ad copy is a one-way conversation. You must anticipate their questions and objections. These must be answered in your copy before you get the sale.
