7 Keys to Internet Business Success

7 Keys to Internet Business Success

Writen by Bina Omar

Starting an internet business can be as simple as opening a Yahoo Store. And as complicated as building your own dynamic e-commerce web site. But no matter how you go about it, you need 7 key ingredients to ensure the success of your internet business.

1. Demand

You can have the most awesome product and the most hi-tech web site, but if you can’t generate demand for your product, your business is doomed from the start. There are many ways to generate demand in the online world. You could advertise in ezines, start an affiliate program, encourage word of mouth, referrals, do joint ventures. Remember, without demand, there will be no sales. And without sales, where does that leave you?

2. Order

When you start getting visitors to your web site, it’s now just a matter of turning them into your customers. Okay, maybe it’s not as easy as it sounds. This is why, once your visitor has decided to become a customer, you have to make sure that it is easy for them to do so. Make sure that your ordering process is easy and straightforward. The less clicks to secure an order, the better.

3. Payment

This is one process of your internet business that you’d definitely not want to get wrong - how money is actually transferred from your customer to you. The most popular means of doing this online is through credit card transactions. Credit cards makes full use of a person’s ‘buy now think later’ attitude. So, your sales would be a lot higher if you accepted credit cards than if you didn’t. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have alternative methods. The more payment methods you offer, the easier your customer will find it to pay for your product.

4. Fulfillment

After payment has been made, don’t make the mistake of thinking that the coast is clear. There’s still the matter of delivering your products. If you sell digital products, it is now normal standard to have it delivered instantly. People now expect this, so make sure you set this up. If you sell physical products that needs physical delivery, make sure that you communicate with your customer every step of the way. Ensure them that their goods are on the way. If possible, send them a means to track the movement of their package. Your customers should never feel insecure.

5. Service and Support

Once the sale has been made, it doesn’t stop there. You have to provide excellent customer support. Your internet business customer support will determine, to some extent, whether your customer will request a refund and whether or not they will make repeat purchases. Support abilities of an internet business is getting more and more efficient. So don’t get caught behind. The least you should do is provide timely e-mail support. If you have a busier site, then consider other support methods - online helpdesk, FAQs, live chats, ticket system, knowledge base ….

6. Security

The Internet community is getting more aware of what to look out for in order to protect themselves from many of the net’s less desirable activities. One of which is e-commerce frauds. It is, therefore, up to you to prove to your visitors that they can trust you. Things like using secured server to process payments, can go a long way. Purchase a digital certificate, if you can. Add a physical mail address or a phone number where they can contact you. Anything at all, to give your visitors some peace of mind.

7. Community

Once you’ve received more than just a handful of sales, you should think about starting a community. Making your customers a part of a community, gives them a sense of belonging. Have your community be a part of your product development. Listen to their suggestions. Not only will you get product ideas for your internet business, your sales ratio will increase with every new product release and you will have a loyal customer base.

There you go. Work on these seven keys and you’ll be way ahead of most internet businesses out there on the net today.

6 Steps to an Effective Online Business

6 Steps to an Effective Online Business

Writen by Sean Mize

Creating and running an effective online business is realistically comprised of several hundred, rather than 11, but this will serve as a guide for the direction of your efforts. Contrary to what you may hear rampantly on the Internet, there is no cookie-cutter, get-rich quick scheme on the web. Not only is every online business different, what works for one person or in one month may not work for another person or in the next month.

The Internet is constantly changing, and the online market is inherently different this year than it was last year. New technological improvements occur monthly, and impact the online business environment. What works for one individual when he is the first to sell a certain product a certain way may not work just six months later when he has sold his idea to 40,000 other marketers, and they all begin to promote it. Traffic generation tactics are significantly different than they were just a year ago, and hardly resemble profitable strategies three years ago.

These 11 Steps are simply the bare-bones skeleton of what has to happen for your online business to be successful. They are foundational, and although the implementation strategies are different today than several years ago, the basic steps remain the same.

1. Develop or discover a product. You must find a product that meets today’s needs. A 5 year old product whose resell rights you can buy for a dollar or get for free probably won’t meet the needs of today’s consumers. You must be willing to pay for the rights to sell a current , useful product, or become an affiliate marketer, where you promote a popular product, and in exchange are paid a percentage of the income from the sale.

2. Determine how the potential customers can view your product and see a sales presentation. If you develop your own product or purchase the rights to sell someone else’s, you will need a website. A few tips here: Rather than accept free web hosting, purchase your own domain name and pay to have your domain name and web site hosted by a professional web hosting company with a reputable history. If your free web hosting company goes bankrupt, they generally take your fledgling business with them.

3. Once you have your web site up and running, unless you are using an affiliate program that supplies a sales page, you must develop a sales script and web copy. Aside from your web hosting decision, this is probably the most important thing you can do. You may be tempted at first to write a sales pitch on your own, but unless you already have a lot of experience in the offline market writing effective sales letters, you need to, absolutely must, invest in a few courses on web copywriting. Be willing to spend some money upfront on learning this skill. Too many marketers try to wing it in this area and after a few months of losing money online, finally break down and purchase the knowledge to write a good sales pitch. Do it the other way around—buy the knowledge first, and start making sales from the beginning. Customers will not buy just because you have a web site---they buy from the web site that does the best job of convincing them it has the best product for their need.

4. You must develop a traffic source that works. When you first begin, you may be on a shoestring, and that is OK. Assuming you have been willing to spend some money on sales letter writing and a decent web host, you may be able to skimp in the traffic arena for awhile, if you have plenty of time. If you do not have money to advertise, nor time to seek out low cost advertising, you probably shouldn’t be attempting an online business. If you do choose to go the low-cost route—know two things up front—the returns are really low and you will spend vast amounts of time on traffic generation. Once you begin to make sales, you must invest your income in paid forms of traffic generation. If you do not, you will run out of enthusiasm for generating the free traffic, and without reinvesting the income from your first sales into advertising, you are sure to fail. Good sources of low-cost, but time consuming traffic are: writing articles and posting them to article directories, low cost classified ads, and ezine ads. You may see hyped-up ads for thousands or visitors for a low cost or millions of banner ads for another reasonable price—both of these methods may have worked 2 years ago, but they are a sure waste today.

5. Once you begin to get traffic to your online business site, you must keep detailed records of where the traffic comes from, and what percentage of visitors from each source are purchasing your product. If you have visitors that cost you $50 per hundred to come to your web site, but on average they only purchase $25 per hundred visitors, the income may feel good, but you are not profitable, and are losing money. By tracking your expenses on each type of visitor and by tracking your revenue on the same sources of visitors, you can determine which campaigns need changes or need to be eliminated and which need to be increased in intensity.

6. By following this pattern of steps, and by keeping diligent records (there is plenty of good web site tracking software on the market that can help you do that), you can develop a profitable online business. Again, it will not happen overnight, and you will not get rich quick. However, if you build a solid online business with a solid foundation, and are willing to spend some money learning how to do it right, you really can become successful in business online.

5 Ways To Increase Your Online Profits Without Extra Costs

5 Ways To Increase Your Online Profits Without Extra Costs

Writen by I Buddy

A common misconception is that improvements have to be unique, new, or expensive if they are going to benefit your online business.

Far from it!

You will get much more benefit by making quick and easy changes every day, rather than spending lots of time and money trying to do something more complex. Start now by implementing the following simple success tips:

Sell your products or services to a specific niche market. For example, instead of selling your fishing book to all fishermen, target it toward fly fishermen. You could also use a price niche. You could offer different versions of your product at lower and higher prices. This will fit all people's budgets.

Give people many ordering options. Accept credit cards, checks, money orders and other forms of electronic payments. You should be also open to adding new forms of payment as they become available. They could be the future and you don't want to be left behind.

You could add special offers in your ad copy. It's usually easier to sell the offer than the product. You could use discounts, free bonuses, volume sales, etc. For example, you could say, "You'll get 5 bonuses when you order by Jun 25, 2006!" Another example, "Buy one, get the second one half price off.”

Give your prospects extra confidence so they will order. Use endorsements, testimonials, a strong guarantee or warranty, etc. For example, you could say, "I'm going to allow you to try out our product for a full 60 days without billing your card!"

Tell your readers how fast they can receive your product or service in your ad. Their buying decision may be based on how fast they can receive your product. They may need it by a certain deadline. For example, you could say, "You can download our e-book within minutes after you order."

It's not what you know that counts, it's what you do! Implement one simple improvement a day and you will be amazed at what this can do for your business.

5 Tips to Establishing Your Brand Online

5 Tips to Establishing Your Brand Online

Writen by Wray Burgess

1.) First of all, probably the single most important aspect of establishing any brand is the use of a professional logo. Whether it is simply text, or a symbol, or both, this graphic needs to be the predominant focal point to your site. If you do not have a logo, have one made before proceeding. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY.

2.) The second aspect of your brand development to consider is your company's tag line or slogan. This will serve as a compliment to your logo. Typically, this information serves to illustrate your company's purpose.
For example: "Plants are always a growing concern at Bill's Nursery."

3.) Build a consistent look and feel to all the pages in your site. By this, I mean the layout and placement of navigational elements should be identical from page to page. This consistency should continue with regard to color and typefaces or fonts. Body text size and color should remain consistent, as well.

4.) Be certain to include an 'About Us' page in your site. This section will include vital information about your company and its product or service. A brief synopsis of your company's history is okay here, also.

5.) Finally, aside from a copyright statement at the bottom of each page within your site, be certain to provide a link for visitors to discover your contact information, if only used in the global navigation, it needs to be there. This is great for establishing credibility.

5 Tips How To Be Successful By Selling Online

5 Tips How To Be Successful By Selling Online

Writen by Petr Sejba

1. Affiliate marketing:

Affiliate marketing consist in relationship between web site owners and merchant. Web site owners put merchants advertisement (usually text link or banner) on their page and merchant pays commission from each deal to the site owner. The advantage of this promotion method is the fact that you can never loose your money for inefficient advertising because you pay only in case you earn some money. If you want to start your own affiliate program you can buy one of many available scripts or use some of affiliate networks like Link Share or Commission Junction.

2. Search engine optimization (SEO):

Search engine optimization is one of the most effective (and one of the hardest) ways how to get the large number of very good targeted customers. If you are a search engine optimization specialist, make a SEO analysis and optimize your web site for some effective keywords. If you know nothing about SEO try to find some basic information on Internet and optimize for easy keywords or hire some SEO company. The advantage of search engine optimization is the fact that you get the visitors who want to buy the goods (or services) which you offer. The disadvantage is the long time necessary for successful optimization.

3. Pay per click (PPC):

There are several search engines offering pay per click program. Advertiser choose the keyword and the bid. If the visitor search for this keyword, advertisements targeted for this keyword are displayed. If more advertisers select the same keyword the advertisements are sorted by the bid (except google AdWords, there the advertisement position depends on the bid and click rate). The big advantage of pay per click system is the fact that you can start your campaign during a few minutes.

4. Banner exchanges:

You include a HTML code to your web site and each time somebody visits the site where the HTML code is placed a banner will be displayed and you get some credits (usually 1/2 - 1 credit depending on the exchange ratio). For each credit you "earn" your banner will be displayed on another banner exchange members page. This type of promotion is good for branding but it will increase your traffic just about 0,1 - 1 % only (depending on click rate of your banner) so always combine this method with another strategies.

5. Promotional coupon codes:

Everybody is happy for a free gift or some discount and a lot of online marketers take advantage of this fact. So why don't make your customers happy too? There are many promotional coupon code directories on Internet. Put your coupon code to most of these web sites. Try combination of promotional coupon codes strategy and affiliate marketing. Give away to your publishers promo codes or special affiliate link. If the visitor click this link he gets some discount, free gift, free shipping or another benefits.

5 Tips For New Internet Surfers

5 Tips For New Internet Surfers

Writen by Franck Silvestre

Everyday, thousands of new surfers open their browsers for the first time, it is confusing in the beginning, but if you have some good advices in the early beginning, you can surf easier and faster with a friendly browser...

Tip 1: Surf in security.

The first action that you will do if you are new to the net is to open your browser to surf. If you have a PC, like most of the Internet population. You will have Internet explorer installed in your computer, but it is not the best browser available on the net, and it is in fact limited. You may think that it is hard to surf on Internet.
When you will discover Mozilla Firefox, you will be even more happy to surf on Internet, for sure.
One of the first reason you should use Firefox is the integrated Firewall, which protect you against spyware and other adawares.

Tip 2: No need to tape http://www.---.com all the time.

The second reason to choose Firefox is that you save time; for instance, when you went on ebay.com yesterday, you wrote: http://www.ebay.com with Firefox, you just tape “e” in the address bar of your browser, then http://www.ebay.com will appear in the drop down menu, it's like magic, and it's fun too.

Tip 3: See all your pages in only one window.

I really love this one; you can surf in tab. That is really powerful.
For instance, with Internet Explorer, whenever you click on a link, you have 2 choice: open the page in the same window, or open it in a new window. Firefox enable you to open several pages in one window.
Let's explain: you are now looking yahoo.com, and you want to see the news, you just right click on the link, select open in a new tab, and you have now two pages in only one window. To switch between your pages, you just need to click on anyone of the page you want to look in, all that in the same window. You can open fifteen windows in one time if you want.
Better, you can bookmark(in Internet explorer, bookmark is favorites) a tab, and open it later. It is a very intelligent way of surfing. It is very efficient when you are doing some researches on a subject, on google for example.

Tip 4: All your downloads at the same place.

The fourth reason to choose Firefox is that when you download a file on your computer, sometimes, you want to open it, but you face a problem: Where did you save that file? With Firefox, just click on tools, and then you select download, and a pop up window appear. You just scroll to find your program. It will save you time and a lot of headaches.
However, it is recommended, for the first time, to save your download on your desktop, then after save your file in the folder you choose. You can download firefox for Free. You just type firefox in google.com and you're done.

Tip 5: Don't forget a good anti virus

While you surf on Internet, some hijackers will attempt to damage your computer, by introducing a virus in it. If you don't take your precaution, you may loose all that is stored in your hard disk. You can download AVG, which is excellent at download.com.

There is a lot to learn when you start on Internet, but take your time. And everything will go smoothly.

5 Things to Consider Prior to Starting an Online Business

Amount of Money Needed to Start Business

It is very important that the individual construct a spreadsheet showing how much money is going to be needed to start the online business. By having an approximate cost in mind, the prospective owner will know whether he/she can do so with the money that is available to them at that time or whether any type of loans are necessary.

Apply for a Loan if Necessary

Frequently, online businesses will come into being where the prospective owner is planning to sell some type of item. If this is the case, the individual may need to obtain a loan in order to procure the goods needed for stock. Frequently, in this situation, the prospective owner will need to apply for and obtain a loan.

Monthly Costs
As well as establishing a spreadsheet which will show how much money is needed to start an online business, it is also imperative to have a spreadsheet which shows approximately how much money will be needed each month to keep the business up and running. Knowing this in advance will help significantly when deciding whether to start on online business.

Check Local Laws and Regulations Regarding Online Businesses and Self-Employment

As laws and regulations guide our everyday affairs, it is quite important to check out any pertinent laws, statutes and regulations regarding the running of online businesses and self-employment, in general.

5 Simple Steps To Internet Business Success...

5 Simple Steps To Internet Business Success...

Writen by Munyaradzi Chinongoza

Many people dream of owning a successful internet business,
however very few people ever succeed.

Why is that? My answer is simply, many people get into the
internet business, without any planning at all. They just
jump into it and hope that after placing a few free ads here
and there they will eventually start earning that most
coverted six figure monthly or even better yearly income.

For example, let's say you decided to drive from New York
to Los Angelos for the first time ever, without a road map.

How many times do you think, you will get lost?

How many times do you think, you will become frustuated?

Definetely more times, than if you had a map to guide you
to take the right routes, at exactely the right time.

That is exactely why it is very important, you set a simple
plan to follow inorder for you to achieve the success you
dream of with your own internet business.

Here's a simple 5 step plan, I set for myself...

1) Build your list

No matter what you sell, you should always build your own
opt in list, right from the get go, this is your most

- Give away something free (report ebook etc)

- Promote an affiliate program through your own page for example my webiste http://AmazingCashStrategies.com

2) Have your own product to sell

With your own product, you can develop your own affiliate
program and be able to recruit your own team of affiliates.

- Create your own product or service

- Or you can buy rights to a very good product.

3) Learn how to get "good quality traffic".

No traffic = No sales. You need to learn strategies &
techniques to drive t.argeted free traffic to your site.

- I recommend - http://www.GuruTrafficSecrets.com

- 14 top internet marketers show you how to do this.

4) Create a backend system, to sell to your customers

Your customers, already have trust in you. It is much
easier to get them to buy from you again and again.

- Always give them a special discount,

- keep them happy they usually keep buying.

5) Build strong relationships with other Netpreneurs

Especially those that have made it it big "the gurus", in
your particular "niche". They can help you succeed.

- Get on their lists, reply to their comments & suggestions & very soon they will start to recognize your email when it pops up in their inboxes.

There it is, you are welcome to adopt my paln for yourself.
I like simplicity, so I hope this is simple enough for you.

Don't wait any longer, plan your steps to success today and
really get started on achieving your ultimate dream.

I WILL SEE YOU AT THE TOP!!! - Exactly where you belong...

5 Reasons Why Your Home Improvement Business Should Be Online

5 Reasons Why Your Home Improvement Business Should Be Online

Writen by Kris Koonar

Why Your Home Improvement Business Should Be On The Internet

1. It’s much more cost effective that yellow page ads that only serve one area. A website can serve your entire county for less than the price of a basic yellow page ad.

2. Cost less and is more environmentally friendly than printing glossy brochures. Think about how many people ask to see your portfolio of your craft. A website can display your pictures over and over again with no extra cost.

3. Having a website brands you as an expert. Think about two businesses with everything being equal except one has a website and one does not. Who do you think most customers will go with? Well a website will brand your image in the head of your customers.

4. Out of town customers can reach you. Yes I realize that if you work in Alaska it is no value to have someone see your website in California….or is it? YES it is because what if someone from California was about to move to Alaska and needed some Home Improvement Done?

5. It’s cheap these days to have a website. It no longer cost thousands of dollars to make a nice looking website. Most small trades people can have an attractive website for about $200.00-$300.00 with yearly maintenance and hosting running about $120.00. So when you add it up that is less than $1.00 per day. Most trades’ people will break even if they got 1 extra customer in a year. Yes one extra customer will pay for the website entirely.

5 Reasons for Online Small Business Failures

5 Reasons for Online Small Business Failures

Writen by Irfan Khairi

A lot of companies started their online presence as soon as the Internet revolution started. Some made huge profits, many others failed. Some rose to great heights like Amazon.com and Dell.com, which made their founders billionaires. On the other side of the story, Boo.com and Go.com did not share the same fate. Millions of dollars were lost.

Here are some of the reasons of dot com failures which also applies to small Internet businesses.

1. Insufficient planning

You should not run before you can walk. That holds true to brick and mortar businesses as well as an Internet business. A proper plan should be made beforehand.

Never rush into things when starting an Internet business – take it one step at a time. You should know that there is always time and space to expand your business in the future.

You should also create appropriate plans and set goals for your online business. For example, a weekly plan should be a good idea. What do you plan to do for your business within a week? Maybe add more information on your product or add more useful articles for your visitors.

Planning is important to ensure that everything runs smoothly and systematically. By working on your site bit by bit, you will have a great site in the near future.

For example, if you’re building a website containing sewing and knitting tips, your plan could be to spend two hours a day to write a one page article containing a useful tip. If you follow through the plan, in three months, your website will have 100 pages of useful information! This site will be a great resource for those who like to knit!

2. Trying to do everything yourself

Not many people can setup an online business by themselves. At times, you may need to delegate jobs with other business partners or outsource certain jobs to professionals.

By doing this, you will be able to reduce your workload and ensure your online business runs smoothly. While you may be able to prepare the contents for your website, you might, however, need to hire professional help to design your website for the artistic flair.

Delegating jobs is important to help in your weak areas.

3. Passive website

A website that is not well taken care of or not promoted properly will be not good. Promoting your business, is the most important aspect to make your online business a success. You have to keep in mind that there are millions of websites on the Internet. Without the proper promotion plan, how on earth will Internet users find your site?

Time and energy (not necessarily money) have to be spent in promoting your site. Think of your site like a brick and mortar business. It is obvious that you will go all out to promote your business to get customers. Unfortunately, too many people think that once their website is up on the Internet, all the work is done.

Building your website is the first step, but it is not the last. Promoting your website is a continuous job and is the number one PRIORITY for your Internet business.

In short, building your business website is just 10% of the job. 90% of the job lies in promoting your business.

4. Ignoring the law and Internet ethics

There are still grey areas where the law is concerned on the Internet. However, ignoring web ethics will ruin your business.

An activity such as sending unsolicited e-mails to promote your business is called spamming. Spamming is very dangerous for your business – other than annoying web users, you may also be black-listed by your web hosting company and merchant account provider.

5. Selling the wrong product or service

You must choose the product or service carefully before making an online presence. The truth is not all products or services can be sold successfully over the Internet. For example, even though items that have a long life span (such as books or clothes) can be sold successfully online, you may face problems when selling fresh items such shipping fresh fish from Terengganu to Switzerland!

Also, don’t forget that the best way to find a product or service to sell on the Internet is by searching for a gap in the market by tracking the demand closely. Selling an item that is not demanded is a sure recipe for failure!

5 Proven Topics for Subscription Websites

5 Proven Topics for Subscription Websites

Writen by Craig Dawber

Coming up with the right mix for a subscription website is one of daunting tasks for those wanting to start such websites. There are however 5 such subjects which are the most popular ones.

It's a serious business to start and run such a website. But the ongoing research has shown that there are 5 such subscription websites, which have performed well time and again.

These are

  • Trade association websites
  • Print newsletter
  • Job and career sites
  • Personality or insider profile website
  • Product library downloads

We can look at them one by one

1. Trade association

Most trade associations provide various kinds of services and benefits to their members. In this case, the same is extended over the Internet. In a members' only subscription website, they are able to provide the same kind of benefits. Many trade associations extend such benefits. These include financial, marketing, legal and other such benefits. Latest news and information from the trade circles.

There are many such sites. Some sites boast of even membership of 85,000 and above. Such is the popularity of these websites. While many membership subscription websites are interactive, the rest are just billboard type websites having one or two pages listing the names and the contact information of the members.

2. Print newsletter

A print newsletter, which is a successful one can be very easily uploaded on to become a subscription website for members only. There are many advantages of carrying the print version online. Though not a newsletter, the online version of the 'The Economist' is also available online. The various benefits that accrue to the subscribers are

-They can search for articles in the previous issues
-The current issues are available at a touch of the mouse and they don't need to wait for the mailman to deliver the issues
-Other value added benefits might be available on the website itself
-Many new members can easily subscribe to the newsletter online

3. Job and career sites

There are literally hundreds and thousands of sites, which provide news and information on jobs and careers

-They provide job listings
-There are many articles, tips, and tricks on how to prepare for these jobs
-Have links to educational sites, employer sites etc.
-Provide information on startup business, marketing tools, financial tools etc.
-These sites charge subscription fees, which fall in the range of ฃ300 - ฃ500. Many of these sites are also free (they are supported by many advertisements)

4. Personality or insider profile website

The subscription site is developed around a personality. This personality would be considered an authority and an expert in their chosen field around the world. They usually charge subscription fees, which can be quite steep. A particular stock analyst charges almost ฃ2,000 per year. Subscribers log on daily for his analysis of stock movement and the advice provided is considered sacred. This is because he has an amazing track record and is the best in the industry.

5. Product library downloads

There are various product library downloads for example clipart, music files, scripts, .pdf files etc. The members to these subscription sites are in need of professional products, which they can download. For example clipart and templates for PowerPoint presentation for the professionals. There are many free sites as well as paid sites, which are available. Some of these can charge upwards of ฃ150 onwards for downloading their entire product library.

Since there are both free and subscription sites for members, the paid sites need to differentiate them from the rest. The paid subscription sites need to deliver the specific and requested information conveniently and quickly.

5 Powerful Tips for Getting the Help You Need Online

5 Powerful Tips for Getting the Help You Need Online

Writen by Tony Mase

In his book "How to Get What You Want", Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his classic masterpiece "The Science of Getting Rich", talks about the importance of "making constructive use of the people and things in your environment" in getting what you want.

One way you make constructive use of the people and things in your environment is to get the help you need, when you need it.

If you spend any amount of time on the Internet, you'll occasionally need someone's help...

It might be help with an online purchase, technical support for a product, or some other kind of help.

Regardless of the kind of help you need...

The manner in which you ask for that help will determine the quality and the quantity of the help you receive now and in the future.

You see...

There are two ways you can ask for help online...

One is "constructive"...

The other is "destructive".

When you ask for help in a constructive manner, you'll get the help you need, when you need it, and you'll "build" a relationship that'll keep the door open for future help.

On the other hand...

When you ask for help in a destructive manner, although you might get the help you need this time, you'll "destroy" any chance of a relationship and close the door to future help.

Based on the thousands of questions and support requests I've received and answered online, here are five powerful tips that'll help you get the help you need, when you need it, and get it in a way that'll leave the door wide open for future help:

Tip #1 - Don't lead with your chin.

Leading with your chin is a great way to get knocked on your...

Well...

You fill in the blank. :-)

The single most important thing you need to remember when you're asking for help online, whether you're asking by email or by filling out an online form, regardless of how angry or frustrated you might be, is that there's a real "live" person on the other end...

A person who has "feelings" just like you do!

Including phrases in your first request for help like...

"Are you going to help me right now, right this minute, or are you going to give me my money back?"...

Or...

"I'm starting to think this is a scam!"...

Or...

"If I don't hear back from you in one hour, I'm going to call my lawyer!"...

Might make you feel good, but they'll virtually guarantee whatever help you do get right now will be minimal, at best, and your chances of getting anything other than minimal help from that person again in the future will be somewhere between slim and none.

Tip #2 - Be polite.

For some strange reason, one I've yet to figure out, many people seem to think the rules of simple, common courtesy don't apply online...

Don't you be one of them!

A request for help written in a polite tone, using "please" and "thank you", will, more often than not, get you a prompt and courteous reply.

Tip #3 - DON'T SHOUT!!!

Whether you know it or not, typing your request for help in all capital letters is the online equivalent of shouting in the face of the person who receives it...

And...

The liberal use of multiple exclamation marks makes your shouting even louder and more emphatic!

Question for you...

Do you like it when someone shouts in your face?

Guess what?

Neither does anyone else! :-)

Tip #4 - Keep your request short and to the point.

Most people doing business online don't have the time to read long, drawn out messages trying to figure out what you need, nor do they have the time to keep writing you back over and over again trying to clarify what you need.

When you ask for help online, *always* include your name, contact information, order information, specific dates, specific details, and a clear, concise description of the help or information you need.

Avoid including any information that doesn't directly contribute to helping the person you're asking for help to give you the exact help you need.

Tip #5 - Say thank you.

After you've received the help you've asked for, a simple "thank you!" or "thanks, I appreciate your help!" will go a long way towards insuring the door will be wide open the next time you need that person's help again.

Once again...

The single most important thing you need to remember when you're asking for help online is that there's a real "live" person on the other end.

Treat that person as you'd like to be treated and you'll find as I have that, more often than not, you'll get all the help you need, when you need it, and that person's door will always be open to you should you need their help again.

5 Point Plan to Getting Your Own Site on the Internet

5 Point Plan to Getting Your Own Site on the Internet

Writen by Simon Loveday

HELP! Get Me Started Online Now!

Anyone wanting to start out with their own website on the Internet, although perfectly capable in matters offline, may feel like a dummy when it comes to those first steps online. Just the sheer volume of competing and distracting information available is enough to get you banging your head on the table in frustration.

There is just so much but it often fails to consider the position of the complete beginner's question, 'Where do I start?'

This is something the pros who have grown up with and often made the Internet what it is today do not consider when they expound ever more complex strategies and the latest of the advanced pieces of software. Novices, however, need a clear and simple path to follow so that they can get some experience behind them and the confidence to adopt the more esoteric possibilities that abound.

So, what is the first thing to do?

Well, the order is debatable, but we can break the process down into just 5 Clear Steps.

1. First, you really do need to think about what your intentions are and what you hope to do online. If, for example, you merely want to have your thoughts recorded for posterity - or a group of friends, then a blog (think online diary) could well the way to start. Usually free to use and maintain, they are the simplest and quickest way to begin. If you are thinking of something more 'businesslike' then, read on.

2. For someone hoping to operate a business or community site -and assuming you are not an expert of HTML (the basic language of the web), you will need to get yourself a sensible piece of site building software. Free is possible, but be prepared for no or slow customer support and bugs that do not get fixed or attended to promptly. (You will also find that 'free' often means expenses elsewhere - either in 'additional services' that are often included in the commercial packages or limitations that have to be overcome. And your time, remember, should not be counted as free, viz Economics 101.) Rather, a robust and supported software is preferable, as well as one that does not require a PhD in Computing to follow the manual.

3. Next, you will need to think of a name for your site. Once you've done that, get it registered at a domain registration service. This should cost no more than a yearly fee of $10 (down from $70 or more just a few years ago!).

4. Now, you will need a reliable 'hosting' company. This is essentially another set of computers -'servers' - that make your site accessible 24/7 to other computer users. Monthly packages are available and are probably the best as you are not locked into a poor service for long and they have to work hard to maintain customer satisfaction. Think around $10 a month for this. You will then transfer your new domain name to the hosting company if they are different.

5. Finally, you will 'upload' your site to your hosting company. This is the scariest part of all for newcomers - I know, I was worried that if I made a mistake I would possibly blow-up my hosting company's system when I first tried. LOL. They have rebuilt, now, though, I hear.

There, 5 Steps to Getting Online! Essentially, that is what it is all about. Alright. I know. The devil is in the details. But at least you now know what to look for. I wish I had understood that when I was starting out. But now you do, so go to it. Good Luck.

Simon Loveday makes it easy to see how to get your first website up and running. Learn the first 5 steps involved in the process and the essential software and services you will need. 5 Lesser-Known Online Business Ideas

5 Lesser-Known Online Business Ideas

Writen by Rojo Sunsen

1. Ask people to find a hidden link in your ad copy. If they
find the hidden link tell them they will get a prize or freebie
by clicking on it. This will increase the chance that they will
buy your product or service because they will read your
whole ad copy.

2. Start a members only web site. Tell visitors what's in your
members only site and what it costs to get access. Offer them
a free membership, if, in exchange they link to your web site,
post your banner on their home page or agree to advertise
your web site in their e-zine for a set period of time. Usually
they will agree to the free advertising to save money. This is
a powerful way to get free advertising.

3. Want a popular discussion board? This technique is based on
the number of postings made by any one person. You could
give away a free product or service to any person that posts ten
or more messages on your discussion in a month. It could be a
free e-book, report, e-mail consulting etc. Just keep track of
everyone's postings each month. This could also work for e-mail
discussion lists.

4. Give your visitors an instant article directory. Tell your
visitors they can instantly add a free article directory to
their web site by linking to yours. Just place your ad or banner
ad on top of the article directory for your main product or
service. All those links can add up to a large amount of traffic
for your web site.

5. There a millions of web sites on the internet. Instead of
marketing your web site as a web site. Market it as a free web
book. Design your web site with a title page, table of contents,
chapters, etc. Just place your ad or banner for your product or
service on the top of each web page.

5 Great Ways To Make Money Online

5 Great Ways To Make Money Online

Writen by Andrew Jamaz

The reality is that there are so many ways to make money online that the hard part is choosing what avenue you would like to take first! There are several E-commerce opportunities available on the Internet that would allow you to work from home. As with any information you receive from the Internet, be sure to do your homework. Research all companies before you sign up or invest with them.

Affiliate income: Selling someone else’s proven product can be a great way to earn income without a high investment. Using your unique link, you refer customers to their product site and when they buy – you receive a commission. Sometimes as much as 50%! If you have your own product you can also use affiliate programs to drive traffic to your website. Special tracking software is available to keep track of your affiliate programs.

Selling on Ebay: There are many ways to sell on Ebay. Many people clean out the attic and sell what they find. Others scour yard sales and flea markets for unique and/or valuable finds. Still others market their new products by holding auctions and opening a storefront directly on Ebay. For a small fee you can set up an action on Ebay. And don’t worry, you can set a reserve price to make sure you get at least as much as you want/need for the item.

Selling E-books: The number one product for sale on the Internet today is information. The term E-book is short for electronic book. They are books available, for a cost, for immediate download. Any information you have that would be beneficial to someone else can be packaged and sold as an e-book. No printing costs, no shipping costs, high markup. Most e-books are in .pdf format, and can be read with Adobe’s free software Acrobat Reader, which makes them all the more appealing to the layperson.

Taking Surveys: Believe it or not these companies not only ask for your opinion, but actually pay you for it. What a find! By filling in an online survey for these companies you are helping them with market research, and they can reward you by paying you or offering you gifts or special offers.

Earning per click from Adsense: Adsense is a program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to put text, image, and video ads on their sites. These ads then pay you on either a per-click or per-thousand-ads-displayed basis. AdSense has become popular because the ads are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the ads is targeted to the website. This service is free and involves a minimal time investment. It is also customizable so that its appearance will compliment your site scheme.

5 Great Reasons for Starting Your Own Online Business

5 Great Reasons for Starting Your Own Online Business

Writen by Jay Stuart

Convenience

Perhaps one of the primary reasons for choosing to start an online business is the convenience, which underlies this concept. It is not very often that an office will let you come to work in a pair of shorts and t-shirt or show up around 11 a.m. Having an online business and working from home is so convenient as you live where you work and this comes in handy a great deal of the time. Furthermore, if a client wishes to contact you after normal business hours, no problem as you will be in your “office area” for most of the day and night.

Wonderful for Stay At Home Moms (or Stay at Home Dads)

Many individuals these days choose to stay at home with their children; however, many still want to work and make some extra money while being there for their kids. For this reason, starting an online business may be the perfect opportunity for an individual in this situation to be there for the children yet still earn a living.

No Rush Hour Traffic to Contend With

If anyone out there has experienced serious rush hour traffic, then starting an online business might be right up their alley. With an online business, if pursued at home, there is no rush hour traffic to contend with and the individual can use the time that might have been spent sitting on the highway to do something more useful.

Prosperous

As technology advances at a rapid speed, those individuals who start online businesses are in the right field. Online businesses these days tend to be very prosperous and getting involved in this type of business is a way to make some good money.

Little Overhead

If one starts an online business, they will also be met with very little overhead for the most part. As opposed to a business owner that works out of an outside office or store, the online business owner usually works from home and has a home office set up. Since many of the transactions are completed online, there is little need for vast amounts of paper, documents, etc. One usually needs a computer, high-speed Internet connection, printer, fax machine and some other necessities. Online business owners usually do not spend too much on overhead, which is another great reason to consider starting an online business.

Online businesses are the wave of the future and if one is computer-savvy and appreciates the aforementioned positive aspects of running an online business, this might just be something to check into.

5 Free Steps To Online Income

5 Free Steps To Online Income

Writen by Darren Power

If you are new to the online business world and would like to get involved without risking any of your hard earned cash then this article will show you one way to get involved for free.

We are going to discuss ways to promote affiliate programs without your own site and without spending any money.

Best of all if you choose a program related to your interests then it won't even seem like any work is involved.

The 5 steps are aimed at promoting a product while you go about your normal daily surfing activities.

Before we get on to step 1 you need to locate and join an appropriate affiliate program.

This program ideally should be 2 tier, which means you get paid for sales made through your link as well as for the sales made by affiliates that you refer through your link.

To find an affiliate program search at Google for "affiliate directory" then visit the directories and search the directory for a keyword related to your interests.

Once you have joined a program you will receive a link to promote, you may also receive a second link to promote the affiliate program itself which can be used to recruit tier 2 affiliates.

Once you have a link take the following steps to incorporate the affiliate link into your surfing activities:

1. Add a signature to your emails, this will mean that every mail you send will have a tag line at the bottom which, in this case, will promote the service that you are affiliated with. Check the help files in your email program for instructions on how to do this.

2. If you already visit forums related to the product add a signature to your profile. This means that every time you post your link will be added to the end of your post.

Locate more forums where people interested in the product might hang out. Do a search for a keyword followed by forum at Google.

Try and think of all the different related subjects that might have forums and identify as many as possible.

Once you have identified your forums visit them all and join the ones that allow posters to add a signature file to their posts. Then get involved in conversations be useful whenever possible and every time you post an item your affiliate link will be displayed. This will be a lot less like work if you are promoting in a niche that is of interest to you.

3. If you have an eBay account then create an About Me page and include details of the affiliate program there. Click help once logged in to eBay and search for About Me to find instructions on creating your page.

Whenever you list an auction include a line at the top of the description that invites viewers to visit your About Me page.

4. Locate sites that have visitors that might be interested in the product that you are affiliated with especially those that have a mailing list or an ezine. Then contact the site owner and suggest that they join the affiliate program. If they join using your link you will earn a percentage of any commissions that they earn.

5. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. With so many things success comes down to numbers. The more site owners you contact and the more forums that you post at the more commission you will earn.

Do all of the above and you will earn money for no investment, it may take time and might start slowly but it will happen.

4 Simple Steps to Massive Online Success

4 Simple Steps to Massive Online Success

Writen by Jack Foley

If you are new to home business and are looking for a legit and proven way of attaining financial freedom, then this article will be of the utmost importance to you. There are a multitude of "opportunities" on the net today, alot of them shady but also a few priceless gems. What you have to learn is that if you want to build a successful home business, it’s going to take an initial investment on your part. What I'll be writing about here is of the positive experiences I have had over the last 2 years working as a network and internet marketer. I have no doubt in my mind that if you adopt what I say, then you will build a successful online business that will eventually enable you to give up your day-job period. These steps are definitely a no-brainer for me!

Step 1 - Join Success University: Step 1 is definitely the most important part of your journey as it makes a statement that you are serious about building a successful home based business. All of the wealthy real estate business people didn’t become wealth overnight. They all at some stage had only one property on their portfolio and slowly built their businesses to success. You have to do the same with your home business. You have to get on that ladder. My Step 1 to you today is to join the fastest network marketing program on the internet today. It’s called Success University. When you think about it, the founder (Matt Morris) has come up with an absolutely brilliant idea. Normally network marketing companies sell products and the more the affiliate sells, the more he gets paid. With Success University, there are no products involved but personal development courses. So basically an affiliate who pays his month tuition fee gets access to fantastic personal development courses. There are thousands of courses on offer and there is huge variety in them. The growth I have experienced in my downline (both from my efforts and my upline) with this program has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Step 2 - Register a Domain Name and Order Web Hosting: This is an imperative step to give your business a presence online. Most network marketing companies claim that they give you free marketing webpages for your business. These are basically gateways and the problem with them is that you can’t get any website ranking with these webpages. So basically what marketers do is optimise their website in the search engines (I'll talk about this later) and then flood their websites with the gateway WebPages. So basically you are using your registered website to get as many visitors as you can to go to your landing (gateway) WebPages. These landing pages are usually well designed as this is where the prospects input their information to join the network marketing program and become a member of your downline. I am a member of the work at home team so I use their hosting. They also will register a domain for you. When I came into this business, I had no experience of building websites but the hosting package is second to none and extremely user friendly. It is very easy to use.

Step 3 - Purchase Article Submitter Pro: Now that you have your own website your next objective is to promote it as much as you can. From my experience the best way to promote your website is to write articles and submit them to every website you can find that looks for fresh new content. What I used to do was write articles myself and submit them manually to each website one by one. The problem was it was way too slow and it was taking me hours and hours to submit one of my articles to around 100 websites. I decided to buy article submitter pro and it really has improved my article marketing no end. Now I can submit an article to 100 websites in less than an hour. This means I'm spending more time writing and less time submitting. It comes with the websites programmed into the software, all you got to do is to press the submit button on each website as the software atomically loads in all the article information. To give your business a major boost and to start receiving multiple swarms of traffic immediately (without have to use pay per click), I suggest strongly you buy this software.

Step 4 - Write Articles about the Courses you’re Studying: People say to me all the time that they find it difficult to write articles week in week out as they can’t think of enough fresh new material on a consistent level. Well now that’s not a problem for you as you have a multitude of courses available to you being a member of Success University. This is a no brainer for me for the following reason. Success University is a resounding success because everybody has an interest is personal development. Your articles are going about the exact same material so you should get allot of traffic coming to your website by means of your articles.

There you have it, 4 simple steps that will lead to massive online success. I honestly can only see success for you if you follow the plan diligently and consistently work on your business especially in the start up period. If you have any questions, you can get me at jackfoley2003@eircom.net as I will be delighted to help you with any queries you have.

4 Proven Strategies To Become a Master Internet Network Marketer - Part 1

4 Proven Strategies To Become a Master Internet Network Marketer - Part 1

Writen by Luc Andria

Did you know that 9 out of 10 families have to work two jobs in order to make ends meet? This isn’t a choice, it is a necessity. With increased job insecurity and retirement income concerns worldwide, reduced perks and career prospects with large established companies, more and more people are looking to take their income into their own hands!

Now the good news is that with the advent of the internet and the World Wide Web, it is now possible for you to invest a few hours of your time every week to gradually build your online business, until you make enough money to eventually quit your job!

How? Simply by learning how to leverage the power of the Internet and putting yourself in front of powerful business trends to build residual income. InterNetwork Marketing programs — affiliate marketing, network marketing or MLM based — are the latest in truly successful residual income strategies. They are the choice of online experts, savvy networkers and business entrepreneurs, and will be your choice too, when you find out how much money you’ll be making.

What is a network marketing or affiliate program, you ask? An Internetwork Marketer is what would typically be known in the retail industry as a “representative,” or “rep.” In this case, an “E-rep” is probably a more accurate description. Best part is that you don’t have to drag a briefcase of samples with you! In fact, once you’ve designed your strategy for maximizing the potential of your different online marketing programs, you won’t even have to think about it anymore – except when it comes to depositing the money you’ve earned into your bank account, and then deciding how to spend it.

What do you need to make your first step towards becoming a Master Internet Network Marketer? A computer and an Internet connection. And it doesn’t even need to be your own – though that does make it more comfortable. Beyond that, there are several techniques and methods that you can build into your strategy for truly maximizing your income potential. Typically, this starts with a website; A website, simple or complex, one simple page or a big deal. This is really up to you, and you can build it as you become comfortable with the concept, and your skills are improving.

How do you learn the right strategies and techniques, and successfully build on your internetwork marketing business? The Internet Network Marketing School may just be the answer you’ve been waiting for. So if you really serious about working from home as a Master Internet Network Marketer, you can begin your journey towards financial freedom and online success today! All you need to do is follow in the footsteps of those who have been there before and are now willing to share with you the secrets of their internet network marketing profits and success

Now I am sure that, at some stage or another, you have come across one or more of the thousands of different affiliate and network marketing programs available on the Internet today. It is not surprising that for many of us getting started with the right InterNetwork Marketing program can seem a bit daunting. However, when you know what you’re looking for, you’ll feel much more prepared to tackle this first major step.

Though many affiliate and network marketing sites may still give you the impression that all that is required to enjoy internetwork marketing success is plugging a link or a banner onto your site, and the money will start rolling into your account, this is not necessarily the case. Most of the time, this will only happen if your website already enjoys a great deal of targeted traffic.

For that reason, you need to make sure you only register with affiliate or network marketing programs that offer products or services that which are a close match to the profile of the online audience you will be targeting.

Once you have that set, your job is to get the word out, and draw as much traffic to your site as possible, using a number of different marketing and advertising methods. Variety is the key, both with the products you’ll offer, and the promotion strategy you’ll implement.

Stay tuned for Part 2...

4 Essential Points For Building Successful Online Communities

4 Essential Points For Building Successful Online Communities

Writen by David Kinsella

Many new internet startups and websites rely on building communities, many fail for various reasons but there are always lessons to be learned. I've been lucky enough to be put in charge of re-developing a site which already has an active community so I've spent some time trying to discern what makes or breaks an online community.

Don't rely on community contributions.

One of the major problems encountered are sites which do not function without contributions from their users. A catch 22 situation arises when the site will not be used unless there is content and the content is not present unless anybody uses the site. It's important then to consider how the site can be a useful resource with AND without the community's contributions. Look at pulling in syndicated data from external sources or partnerships with other data providers to make up any shortfall and ensure that you site doesn't die from neglect.

Motivate your users

Motivation to contribute is another problem for some sites. There needs to be selfish reasons for a user to invest their time and effort into adding to the collective data pool. Even Wikipedia has this in a less than obvious way. A user could write an entry for something that they want to promote, hence adding to the communal data pool for entirely selfish reasons. This selfish motivation is apparent in most of the successful online communities, whether it is building networks (myspace, linkedin) or showing off (youtube, flickr), the user gets somethng for themselves in response to adding to the whole community.

Bring them back with usability

A site which is difficult to use or understand will turn people off pretty quickly, a frustrating user experience is not something anybody wants to repeat. Simple and easy to use websites will make people feel good, if they achieve what they wanted to do first time without getting stuck or feeling confused, then they will consider it time well spent and probably return to get that feel-good glow again (and again and again... hopefully). If you are building a web-based tool, consider the benefits of spin-off tools such as Firefox extensions, IE bookmarklets and RSS syndication. These tools allow your service to extend beyond the boundaries of your website, I use the del.icio.us Firefox extension many times a day but probably only browse to the site itself once or twice a day. I use an RSS feed to keep an eye on my Basecamp projects rather than logging in on a regular basis. These web-services have become a part of my constant toolkit, whatever I am working on, not just things that I set-aside time to spend on keeping them up-to-date.

Learn to ignore feedback

Always allow users to tell you what they think, but don't react to every criticism or suggestion. Sometime the minority can have the loudest voices and try to force you into making changes that the majority don't want. In general, if people are happy with something, they are less likely to tell you that if they're unhappy. You need to ensure that any changes that you make will not disrupt the silent majority unless you are sure that it will improve the service for everybody.

This covers some of the major points that I've come up with during my research. There are many other considerations but I hope that if you are building an online community then they will help to improve things for the good of your users and of course for yourself.

3 Quick Ways To Start Your Own Online Business In Less Than 24 Hours

3 Quick Ways To Start Your Own Online Business In Less Than 24 Hours

Writen by Cory Threlfall

The Internet and online business especially are becoming more and more popular by the day in todays world simply because people are starting to see the true benefits of the web, consumers are starting to trust the web more, and more importantly, the start up costs for a online business are next to nothing compared to the offline world of business start ups.

The only set back most people run into when wanting to start one of their own online business is How and Where to get started.

I did a search under the keyword term "home based business" and the search results returned 575,000,000 results for that keyword alone.

That's a pretty intimidating number for someone wanting to start their own home based business on the web wouldn't you say?

These were the same obstacles I was up against when I first ventured into the online world of business.

But I didn't let that stop me and I hope that won't stop you either from wanting to start your own online business.

So, I saved you the hassle and put together 3 of the quickest ways for ANYONE(that's You) to start their own online business with next to no investment required and can get started in less than 24 hours.

Are you ready? I hope so.

Business Model #1. Affiliate Programs.

Affiliate Programs are simply programs set up by the business owner for others to sign up for and promote for the business owner for a agreed upon commission(usually between 10 - 75%).

The great thing about Affiliate marketing is it doesn't cost you a single penny to get started, you don't have to worry about refunds or customer service that come with owning your own product.

All you have to worry about is generating the traffic to your affiliate link and collecting your commission cheques.

This is the quickest way to get started online... Period!

Here's a few Affiliate Directories to give you a start:

Associate Programs - http://www.associateprograms.com

Refer It - http://www.refer-it.com

Business Model #2. Resell Rights.

Resell Rights are simply products that have already been created and are available to anybody who is willing to pay for the Resell Rights to market them.

The upside to this is you get Ready-To-Go websites with PROVEN sales letters that convert. The best part of all is... you get to keep 100% of the $Profits$.

The draw back is you can't claim those products as your own. The original creator of the product maintains full rights. You just get to keep all the profits.

Not such a bad trade off wouldn't you say?

Business Model #3. Private Label Resell Rights.

Private Label Resell Rights are simply products that are ready to be branded with your name to it.

What I mean by that is you get full rights to the product or products and are able to claim them as your own even though you didn't create them yourself.

This is the fastest way for anyone to start a online business who really doesn't have any experience or knowledge on how to create their own products.

The other really cool thing about Private Label Resell Rights products is they come with Ready-To-Go websites which then again saves you time and money in having to create them yourself.

Well there you have it, 3 Quick Ways To Start Your Own Online Business In Less Than 24 Hours.

The easiest way to locate any of the above via the search engines is by entering something like this into there search engine web form:

affiliate programs + "what your niche is"

(Note: make sure you use the quotations around what niche you want to target. Very Important!)

This will save you time and target your search much better, where as if you were to just enter 'affiliate programs' into the search engine web form you would get a gazillion results, leaving you frustrated.

Now, the only thing left for you to do Right NOW is make a decision on what you would really enjoy doing as a business online.

Once you've figured that out the only thing left for you to do is put together a... Plan For $Profit$.
